AD | Lip oils have been getting a lot of publicity lately. All my favorite brands have brought out lines of lip-staining sheer colors that give a glossy effect rather than the full, solid color of colored glosses or traditional lipsticks. Lip oils are advertised as being pretty but also practical thanks to the hydrating and nourishing ingredients in the oils that sink deep into the skin of your lips and keep them healthy. The question is: are lip oils all that they are made out to be? Do they deliver on aesthetic appeal and skincare at the same time? I will share my findings.

In previous years, I have enjoyed creating anti-wish lists, especially for beauty products I would not want as a gift that year. I originally started my blog as a beauty blog and followed the latest releases. In doing so, I made plenty of purchases for products I did not necessarily need. That is no longer the case nowadays. In fact, the only new makeup I purchase is the everyday makeup I have run out of. I may treat myself to a new palette once a year or even nail polish like the Safiya x Holo Taco Collection, but I do not keep up with all the recent makeup releases like I used to. That said, I was curious about what new makeup is out there and what I would put on my Christmas anti-wish list for 2023. If you are interested in any of these items, I will include links.

I usually share a Valentine’s Day makeup look on my blog, and I thought it would be fun to do a makeup challenge this year. There are different variations of this challenge such as the 5 minute and 10 minute makeup challenge, but I want to try the variation I saw on NikkieTutorials‘ channel where she did a half-face makeup look in 60 minutes and the other half in 6 minutes. I will put my own spin on the challenge by doing my whole face for each time limit and using pink and red-toned makeup for Valentine’s Day.

You have probably noticed that I have not been active on my blog lately, and I apologize. I flew to my parent’s house on August 29th, so I have been preparing for that. I also went on vacation from August 4th to 10th. The week after my vacation was the last week of summer break before the second year of my master’s program started, and I used that time to relax and play video games. My master’s program started on August 19th, and I have been returning to the groove of things. Since things have settled a bit, I thought now would be a good time to write a new post and share a haul of bags and beauty products I bought before my trip to my parents.
