My Christmas 2024 Anti-Wish List

Updated on January 26th, 2026

Several years ago, I started creating anti-wish lists for beauty products I would not want as a gift. I would like to keep up with this tradition because even though my blog has shifted away from being solely a beauty bog, I do like seeing what makeup brands have been releasing lately. I also included links to the products because even though I am not interested in these items, you may be. Without further ado, here is my Christmas anti-wish list for 2024.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you make a purchase through my links, but there is no extra cost to you.

My Christmas 2024 Anti-Wish List

Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Sugar and Spice Palettes

Anastasia Beverly Hills released two mini palettes for the holidays. Each palette is $29 and has 9 shades, which is an okay price. The Mini Sugar Palette has cool-tone shades. I do like the purple and blue, but I do not need the palette. On the other hand, the Mini Spice Palette is warm-toned with a mix of neutral and gold shades. I do not like the Spice Palette because I find the shades less unique. Therefore, I would not want the Spice Palette either.

ColourPop x Frosty the Snowman Collection

ColourPop constantly releases new collections, and one such collection for winter is Frosty the Snowman. The full collection is $125 and includes a 15-shade eyeshadow palette, 2 metallic gel eyeshadows, 2 highlighters, 3 plumping lip glosses, 2 lipstick and lip pencil sets, and a lip mask and scrub. The packaging is on point and reflects the Frosty the Snowman movie, but I do not like the actual products. The shades of the palette are pretty. However, I feel like they are too light to show up on the lids well. Furthermore, I watched Emily’s Makeup Bag makeup look with the palette, and she had to use multiple layers of eyeshadow because they were so sheer.

As far as the rest of the collection, the lip colors are nothing new. They are your standard red and pink shades you can find everywhere. For the highlighters, one is a plain white shade while the other is a pretty pink shade. I would only want to try the pink shade, but you have to buy the duo with both. I would be interested in trying the gel eyeshadow because they are gorgeous pink and blue shades. However, I do not need them.

Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Collection Bundle

I tried a few lip products from Kylie Cosmetics years ago, but I feel like the brand has dropped off and I do not see anyone using her products anymore. However, Kylie Cosmetics did release a holiday collection bundle for $179. The collection includes a 4-shade eyeshadow palette, 2 lip liners, a lip tint, 3 glosses, and 3 nail polishes. I had no idea Kylie Cosmetics made nail polishes, so that is new to me. However, the shades are red, dark mauve, and dark brown, which are not interesting.

The eyeshadow quad is boring and has white, brown, white gold, and pink shimmer shades. I do not use lip liners, and the glosses are pink, red, and taupe, which are boring as well. The only product I am intrigued by is the lip tint because it starts off as a black shade and transforms into a pink shade. Nonetheless, I do not need the lip tint because I have other transforming lip products.

Melt Cosmetics x Bailey Sarian Fatally Yours II Collection

I occasionally watch Bailey Sarian‘s Murder, Mystery & Makeup and Dark History videos on YouTube. I had no idea she was collaborating with Melt Cosmetics until I saw a short on her channel promoting the collection. The collection includes an 8-shade palette, a duo chrome eyeshadow gel, a gel liner, 4 lipsticks, lipgloss, and blush. I have never purchased anything from Melt Cosmetics because I find the prices quite high. The eyeshadow palette is $48 and includes dark black and gray shades mixed with lighter pink and white shades and a silver and gold shade. It is an interesting color story, but I do not need it.

The eyeshadow gel is a pretty pink and blue-shifting shade, but again, it is expensive at $26 and I do not need it. The gel liner is $22 and has a red shade, which is intriguing, but I do not use eyeliner. The lipsticks are $22 each. Two of the lipsticks are red and pink and boring while the other two are an off-white bone and muted grey color. However, I feel like these latter colors would be too light to look good on me. The gloss is $22 and a standard clear lip gloss while the blush is $24 and a regular bright pink blush and nothing new.

NYX x Home Alone Collection

NYX released a collection inspired by Home Alone. Home Alone is a fantastic Christmas movie classic, but the collection is not for me. There is a 16-shade Battle Plan Shadow Palette for $20 with a few intriguing shades like the teal, but I do not need it. There are also 2 Butter Gloss Vaults for $30 each. The vaults come in pizza box packaging, and even though the packaging is new, all 6 shades are fan favorites and not limited edition shades.

Furthermore, there is a cute 12-Piece Mini Lip Kit for $50 that comes in a paint can packaging. However, the products are their most iconic lip products and nothing new for the collection. The Fat Oil Lip Drip Trio is $22 and comes with 3 lip oils. 2 of the lip oils are best-sellers while the last shade is a mystery. Apparently, there are 3 mystery shades so you have to buy 3 sets to get each mystery shade. Lastly, there is a Suprise Makeup Box for $70 with 12 products. As you may have guessed, they are all best-selling products and not made exclusively for the collection.

Revolution x Toy Story Woody Boot Eyeshadow Palette

Revolution released a collection in collaboration with Disney and Pixar for Toy Story. Toy Story is a childhood favorite movie, but I am not a fan of the eyeshadow palette. The palette has 12 shades for โ‚ฌ15.99 and the cowboy boot shape is cute, but I find the mix of brown and yellow shades off-putting. Also, the red shade seems out of place. Therefore, I will have to add the palette to my Christmas anti-wish list for 2024.

Spectrum Alice in Wonderland 10-Piece Makeup Brush Set

Spectrum released Alice in Wonderland-themed brushes, and the 10-piece set is $82. The price is quite high, but I know Spectrum brushes are supposed to be of good quality. However, my main problem with the brush set is that I dislike the bright yellow color of the handles. I find the color off-putting and not for me.

Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Collector’s Set

The set is $99 and includes 10 lip products from the Maracuja Juicy line including 2 Maracuja Juicy Lips, 2 Maracuja Juicy Lip Plumps, 2 Maracuja Juicy Lip Liners, 2 Maracuja Juicy Lip Vinyls, and 2 Maracuja Juicy Lip Oils. The set does seem like a great way to try a variety of different lip product formulas, but the shades are boring. There are only pink and red shades with one white gold shimmer lip plump. Also, I am not a fan of lip-plumping products. I do not like the sensation and I find the products ineffective, so I would not use the 2 lip plumps.

Too Faced Appley In Love Eye Shadow Palette

The eyeshadow palette is $54 and limited edition. The palette includes 18 shades that are inspired by apples. The color story does seem interesting because there are neutral shades mixed with pops of color like green, red, and pink. The palette is also supposed to smell like caramel apples. However, I feel like I already have palettes with these shades. A few months ago, I purchased the Essence x Emily in Paris Palette that has similar pink shades. Also, I do have plenty of palettes with neutral shades and I could probably find a green shade as well, so I do not need the Too Faced palette.

Urban Decay Moondust Space Cowboy Star Eyeshadow Palette

The Urban Decay palette contains 6 shades for $49. The price for each shade is $8.17, which is so high compared to the Too Faced palette which is $3 per shade, and even the Melt Cosmetics palette which is $6 per shade. Also, the 6 shades of the Urban Decay palette are all neutral and I definitely have similar shades in my collection.

Wet n Wild Hello Kitty PR Box

The last item on my Christmas anti-wish list for 2024 is the Wet n Wild Hello Kitty PR Box. Wet n Wild released a collection to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty, and you can get many of the items in the PR Box for $85. The PR Box includes a 16-shade palette, a liquid eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, glitter mascara, a trio highlighter, ombre blush, lip stain, lip oil, and a lip mask.

Wet n Wild is one of the first makeup brands I used, and I do recommend them because they are affordable. However, the Hello Kitty collection is not for me. The eyeshadow palette only has neutral and pink shades, which I already have in my collection. I also do not need a liquid eyeshadow and I do not use eyeliner. The glitter mascara is intriguing because it is pink, but you cannot buy it separately as it comes with an eyelash curler, which I do not need. The highlighter has 3 different shades in 1, but again, I do not need a new highlighter and the brown shade of the ombre blush seems more like a bronzer than a blush. Lastly, none of the lip products seem interesting to me.

What do you think of these products? Do you have a Christmas anti-wish list for 2024?

This is a good idea! A lot of those products look nice, but I agree they are not necessary. I’ve been trying to be very frugal lately. I already have a lot of eyeshadow palettes, no need to buy more just because the packaging is cute! Happy holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

I completely agree! Also sometimes brands (like NYX) just make a holiday collection where all the products are their fan favorites but then they just have cute packaging. I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes too so I don’t need more!

It’s good you don’t know them so you won’t be tempted to get them!

This is a refreshing take on the season! The pressure to conform to holiday expectations can be overwhelming, so truly refreshing to see someone unapologetically charting their own path.

I love the idea of an anti-wish list! There are things that I wouldn’t want people to buy for Christmas as it just causes clutter! x

Yes! Also if you have a lot of one thing like makeup, you don’t really need to add more to your collection!

The idea of an anti-Christmas list is so funny to me–but also so useful! You can lay out exactly what you’re not recommending and why.

Yes! It is useful knowing what you wouldn’t want as a gift & it can help you narrow down what you actually do want

I’ve never had an anti-wish list before, but I really like the idea as it can definitely reduce clutter. I find with make-up, it’s so easy to collect (or be given) so much stuff we never get around to using or don’t like it. I don’t think I would want any of these products either as I have other stuff I prefer.

Yes it is really easy to collect eyeshadow palettes or other makeup items you never use or just use once and forget about.
