As we are getting closer to December, I wanted to share the best Christmas movies to watch on Disney+ including classics like Home Alone and The Santa Clause to newer releases like Frozen and Noelle.
The Disney+ movies on this list are set around Christmas and winter, and they are all appropriate for families to watch together. I also included the age rating on Disney+ for each movie, but parental discretion is always advised.

#1 A Christmas Carol (2009)
Starring Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge, the movie follows the classic story when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come take Scrooge on an eye-opening journey.
Age Rating: 9+

#2 Frozen (2013)
Elsa’s icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter, and her sister Anna teams up with Kristoff to find her.
Age Rating: 6+
There is also the Frozen Sing-Along (2014), which is the same movie, but it has on-screen lyrics during all the songs.

#3 Frozen II (2019)
In the sequel, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, ad Sven undergo a dangerous but remarkable journey to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle to find the truth about the past.
Age Rating: 6+
Like with the first movie, there is also the Frozen II Sing-Along (2022), which shows the lyrics for the songs.

#4 Olaf’s Frozen Adventure (2017)
Olaf’s Frozen Adventure is a short film where Olaf and Sven team up to bring home the kingdom’s holiday traditions and save Christmas for Anna and Elsa.
Age Rating: 0+

#5 Godmothered (2020)
Set around Christmas time, the movie follows Eleanor who is a fairy godmother-in-training when she finds a letter from the 10-year-old Mackenzie who is in distress. Eleanor tracks her down and finds that Mackenzie is now a 40-year-old single mom who gave up on the idea of Happily Ever After, but Eleanor wants to prove her wrong.
Age Rating: 0+

#6 Home Alone (1990)
Home Alone is a Christmas classic, and it is one of my favorite movies to watch around the holidays. In Home Alone, Kevin McCallister is left behind when his family leaves for a Christmas trip, and he has to defend his family’s home from two burglars.
Age Rating: 6+

#7 Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)
In the sequel, Kevin is alone and stranded in New York City, and the same burglars from before are also in the Big Apple.
Age Rating: 6+

#8 I’ll Be Home For Christmas (1998)
Jake is a self-centered college student who is excited to come home for the holidays because he will be rewarded with his dad’s vintage car if he makes it on time. However, he finds himself stranded in the desert thousands of miles from home with no money, and he goes on an impossible journey to get home with only a few days left until Christmas.
Age Rating: 6+

#9 Lady and The Tramp (2019)
Lady and The Tramp is not necessarily a Christmas movie, but the beginning and the ending of the movie are set around the holidays. The 2019 version of the movie is a modern retelling of the classic where Lady, a pampered American Cocker Spaniel house dog, and Tramp, a tough but lovable stray, go on an unexpected adventure.
Age Rating: 6+
There is also the classic Lady and The Tramp (1955) that has the same age rating of 6+.

#10 Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1983)
This movie is the Mickey Mouse version of A Christmas Carol where the greedy Scrooge learns to embrace the spirit of the season.
Age Rating: 0+

#11 Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas (1999)
In this movie, Mickey Mouse, Minnie, and their friends share funny and heartwarming stories of their Christmases together.
Age Rating: 0+

#12 Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas (2004)
In the sequel, Santa Claus joins Mickey Mouse, Minnie, and their friends as they discover the true joys of Christmas.
Age Rating: 0+

#13 The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
The Muppet Christmas Carol is honestly my favorite movie version of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. In the movie, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future visit Scrooge, and together with Bob Cratchit (Kermit the Frog), they open his eyes and heart to the true meaning of Christmas.
Age Rating: 0+

#14 A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa (2008)
In this movie, Gonzo accidentally diverts three letters to Santa, and he talks Kermit and his friends into personally delivering them to the North Pole.
Age Rating: 6+

#15 The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
The Nightmare Before Christmas can be considered both a Halloween and Christmas movie (which is why Jack Halloween costumes are so popular) as it follows the Pumpkin King Jack Skellington as he longs to spread the joy of Christmas. However, his mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for children everywhere.
Age Rating: 9+
Furthermore, there is The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along (2022), which has on-screen lyrics for the songs.

#16 Noelle (2019)
Noelle (Anna Kendrick) is Kris Kringle’s daughter who wishes she could do something important like her brother Nick (Bill Hader) who is training to be Santa. However, when Nick is feeling the pressure, Noelle suggests he goes on a weekend getaway to clear his head, but when he does not return, Noelle must find him and bring him back in time to save Christmas.
Age Rating: 0+

#17 The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018)
This movie is a reimagining of The Nutcracker when Clara receives a mysterious gift from her mother that transports her into a magical world of gingerbread soldiers and an army of mice.
Age Rating: 12+

#18 Santa Buddies: The Legend of Santa Paws (2009)
In this movie, the son of Santa Paws, Puppy Paws, forgets the true meaning of the season, and it is up to the Buddies to remind him what Christmas is really about.
Age Rating: 0+

#19 The Santa Clause (1994)
On Christmas Eve, Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) and his son find Santa Claus after he has fallen off their roof. When Scott takes the reins of Santa’s sleigh, he magically becomes the new Santa.

#20 The Santa Clause 2 (2002)
In the sequel, Scott Calvin has been Santa for 8 years, but he faces a new challenge – he must get married by Christmas Eve, or he will stop being Santa forever.
Age Rating: 0+

#21 Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006)
In the third movie, Scott, also known as Santa, invites his in-laws to his yuletide festivities, but Jack Frost (Martin Short) casts a spell that makes Scott lose his title of Santa Claus, and Scott must stop Jack from taking over Christmas.
Age Rating: 0+

#22 The Search for Santa Paws (2010)
Santa and Paws take a trip to New York City, but Santa loses his memory, and it is up to Paws and two children named Quinn and Will along with a group of magical talking dogs to save Santa and show the world what Christmas is really about.
Age Rating: 0+

#23 Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012)
In the sequel, the Christmas spirit mysteriously begins to disappear, and the Santa Pups – Hope, Jingle, Charity, and Noble must race to save Christmas.
Age Rating: 0+

#24 Snow Buddies (2008)
The final recommendation for Christmas movies on Disney+ is Snow Buddies, and my daughter loves the Buddies movies! In this movie, the puppies are stranded in Alaska and their only way home is to compete in a dogsled race. With the help of two huskies Shasta and Talon, they undergo training to lead the pack and make it home.
Age Rating: 0+
