In this post, I want to compare the Benefit liquid blush to the NYX Fat Cheeks Juicy Liquid Blush to see if there is a difference between a high-end and drugstore brand of liquid blush, and if I prefer one of them over the other.

Benefit Play Daze Airy Liquid Blush
The Benefit Play Daze Liquid Blush is $34 for .21 oz / 6 ml of product ($161.90 per ounce). Benefit has 5 shades available, and I received the Willa shade, which is a soft neutral rose. The liquid blush has a doe foot applicator, and the wand is small and allows for more precise application than the NYX blush.
The Benefit blush is easy to apply as you simply dot your cheeks. Then, you blend out the dots with clean fingers or a makeup brush. One layer of the blush does give a natural, matte look, and you can apply more blush to make the color more intense. With a setting powder and setting spray, the liquid blush lasts all day. Overall, I do think the Benefit Play Daze Liquid Blush is a good blush that is easy to apply and blend, and looks great on the cheeks. However, I am wary of the price as it is quite high for the amount of product you get.

NYX Fat Cheeks Juicy Liquid Blush
The NYX Fat Cheeks Liquid Blush is $10 for .27 oz / 7ml. Per ounce, the NYX blush is $37.04, which is much lower than the Benefit blush at $161.90 per ounce. The NYX liquid blush has 8 shades, which is a little more variety than the 5 shades available from Benefit. I decided to purchase the Fig Fizz shade from NYX as the soft pink shade was the most similar to Willa.
The NYX liquid blush has a large doe-foot applicator, and it is quick and easy to apply the dots onto the cheeks. Once applied, the blush is easy to blend out with clean fingers or a brush. Like with the Benefit blush, the NYX blush is also buildable. You can apply more product for a more intense color payoff. The NYX blush has a dewy finish, but with setting powder and setting spray, the finish looks more matte, and the blush lasts all day. Overall, I find that the NYX Fat Cheeks Liquid Blush is a great blush that is easy to use and lasts throughout the day, and it costs a fraction of the price of the Benefit blush.

Which Liquid Blush I Prefer
After trying out both the Benefit Play Daze Liquid Blush and the NYX Fat Cheeks Liquid Blush for several weeks and even doing side-by-side comparisons when I reviewed the TYMO CurlPro Plus, I find myself drawn to using the NYX blush. The wand and doe foot applicator of the NYX blush is larger than Benefit’s, and it is slightly quicker to apply. I prefer matte finishes when it comes to face products, but with setting powder and setting spray, the dewy finish of the NYX blush is not as noticeable.
Another big factor for my preference is price. I feel like I can use the NYX blush as often as I want, but I want to save the Benefit blush for special occasions because it costs more than 3 times the price of NYX. While the Benefit Play Daze is not a bad blush, I feel the price is not worth it, and NYX Fat Cheeks is a better, more affordable option.
