My 15 Most Played Cozy Games

I have previously shared the Best Cozy Games to Play on PC and Console, and I thought it would be fun to look at my 15 most played cozy games.

15 Most Played Cozy Games

#1 Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Playtime: 1,030 hours

Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) released in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch, which was the perfect time for the next Animal Crossing game to come out, as many people were stuck at home. In ACNH, you move to a deserted island, and from there, you can decorate the island, fish, catch bugs, plant flowers, farm, find fossils, befriend villagers, and complete quests. I have spent many hours decorating my island and home, collecting items for the museum, villager hunting after a villager moved out, visiting other players’ islands, and participating in seasonal events. Also, I played through the Happy Home Paradise DLC, where you decorate vacation homes for the villagers. I stopped playing ACNH for some time, but with the unexpected 3.0 update, I have been playing more.

#2 The Sims 4

Playtime: 681 hours

The Sims 4 is the fourth iteration of The Sims that released in 2014 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. In The Sims 4, you can create a sim, build houses or community lots, and control your sims’ lives, including their jobs, hobbies, and relationships. I have been playing The Sims 4 since it released, and I have since purchased all the Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs. Also, when I first started playing The Sims 4, I mainly focused on gameplay. However, I have been building a lot recently, which has definitely increased my playtime. Also, The Sims 4 regularly adds base game updates and paid DLC, so I imagine my playtime will only increase.

#3 Disney Dreamlight Valley

Playtime: 342 hours

Disney Dreamlight Valley released in 2022 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, and it left early access at the end of 2023. In the game, Dreamlight Valley has been overrun by night thorns due to the Forgetting, and it is up to you to bring magic back to the valley. I find Disney Dreamlight Valley is similar to ACNH in that you can farm, mine, fish, decorate the valley and your house, complete quests, and befriend Disney and Pixar characters. Disney Dreamlight Valley has regular updates that add new characters, items, and features, and like with The Sims 4, I only imagine my playtime increasing. I have purchased the A Rift in Time DLC, which increased my playtime too, but I have been taking a break from playing for now

#4 House Flipper

Playtime: 116 hours

House Flipper released in 2018 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and in the game, you buy, renovate, and sell houses. You can also complete jobs to earn money to buy houses to flip. House Flipper has had free updates and paid DLC, and I have played through most of the DLC, completed all the jobs, and bought all the houses at least once. House Flipper released the Dine Out DLC, which adds restaurants, and I have been playing some more.

#5 Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar

Playtime: 40 hours

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar released in 2025 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, and it is a remake of Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar from 2008. In the game, you start a farm in Zephyr Town and grow crops, raise animals, and make goods to sell at the weekly bazaar. Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is a fantastic farming game. I am currently in autumn of year one, and the bazaar is at rank 5 out of 7, so I do have plenty left to do in the game, and my playtime will increase.

#6 Hogwarts Legacy

Playtime: 35 hours

I received Hogwarts Legacy for the Nintendo Switch as a Christmas gift, and I have been enjoying playing it. In the game, you start at Hogwarts as a fifth-year student during the 1800s. However, dark forces threaten to tear the wizarding world apart. There is combat throughout the game, but there are 4 difficulty settings, including Story and Easy, which can make the game more casual. Also, I love exploring the castle, flying on a broom around the world, finding magical beasts, and completing quests. I still have a lot left to do in the game, so my playtime will increase.

#7 Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Playtime: 35 hours

Kirby and the Forgotten Land released in 2022 for the Nintendo Switch, and it is a 3D platformer where you complete levels, save kidnapped Waddle Dees, and defeat the ferocious Beast Pack. Kirby and the Forgotten Land can be played co-op, and I have played it with my daughter. We have completed all the levels in the game, and they were fun. I definitely recommend this game if you like Kirby games or platformers.

#8 Graveyard Keeper

Playtime: 32 hours

Graveyard Keeper released in 2018 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and I last played it in 2021. Graveyard Keeper is a different take on a farming game because instead of running a farm, you run a graveyard. Players have even compared it to a medieval Stardew Valley. In the game, you build up your cemetery, complete quests, gather resources by farming, fishing, mining, and foraging, and explore dungeons. I did enjoy playing it, but I am not rushing back to play it again. I do remember the game being grindy, and I stopped playing because I reached a quest that would take forever to complete.

#9 Untitled Goose Game

Playtime: 30 hours

I am surprised the playtime is so high! Untitled Goose Game released in 2020 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, and in the game, you are a goose who wreaks havoc on a village. I have played through the game completely. There are initial tasks to complete, and then new tasks are added afterward. I find it a fun game, and I enjoyed completing all the tasks. Untitled Goose Game also added multiplayer, and my daughter and I have been playing together, which has added to the playtime.

#10 Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

Playtime: 25 hours

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream released in 2026 for Nintendo Switch. In the game, you become a caretaker of an island. You create Mii characters, decorate the island, and watch the chaos unfold. Tomodachi Life is a fun game, though if you are not big on making your own designs, you are limited in what you can do. You cannot download Miis and designs others have made and add them to your game. That said, I do see myself playing Tomodachi Life every now and then.

#11 Wylde Flowers

Playtime: 25 hours

Wylde Flowers released in 2022, and it is one of my favorite games that I started playing in 2024. In the game, you play as Tara Wylde, who moves to the small town of Fairhaven to help her grandma on her farm. Tara soon learns about the coven of witches in Fairhaven and joins them. I am still playing through the main story of Wylde Flowers, so my playtime will increase. I have been enjoying completing the quests, expanding the farm, and befriending the residents. Also, the game is fully voice-acted, which is a huge plus!

#12 Planet Coaster

Playtime: 22 hours

Planet Coaster released in 2016 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and it is a theme park simulation game. I loved playing Roller Coaster Tycoon as a kid, and Planet Coaster has the same vibes. There are several different modes you can play, including Career mode, where you complete scenarios in pre-built theme parks, Sandbox mode, where you build your theme park without any money restrictions, and Challenge mode, where you build your theme park, but you have a limited amount of money to start with. Also, you can place premade roller coasters, build your own, or download one from the Steam Workshop. Planet Coaster is a great game, especially if building and managing a theme park sounds fun.

#13 PowerWash Simulator

Playtime: 21 hours

PowerWash Simulator is one of my favorite job simulation games, and the game released in 2022 for Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. In the game, you start your powerwashing business and complete jobs around the town of Muckingham. PowerWash Simulator is such a satisfying and cozy game, and I have numerous jobs left to complete, which will increase my playtime.

#14 Life is Strange 2

Playtime: 19 hours

Life is Strange 2 released in 2018 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, and I finished playing it in 2020. I love the Life is Strange games, and I have also finished playing the first Life is Strange, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, and Life is Strange: True Colors. In Life is Strange 2, you follow brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz, who run away from home after a tragic incident. Daniel has telekinetic powers, and your choices as Sean impact Daniel and the ultimate ending of the game. In fact, there are 7 possible endings! I have only played through Life is Strange 2 once, and I am content with the ending I got. If you like a story-rich game where your choices matter, I recommend checking out the Life is Strange games.

#15 Lake

Playtime: 18 hours

I have a soft spot for mail delivery games, and Lake is the best game in that genre I have played. Lake released in 2021 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. In Lake, you play as Meredith, who takes a break from the big city to deliver mail in her hometown of Providence Oaks. You will drive around the town and meet the residents as you deliver their mail. I have played through the main story twice and the Season’s Greetings DLC once, and unless I decide to play the game again, my playtime will remain the same.
