Shades for the Spring

It is officially Spring despite the cold weather. Like with my Shades for the Fall post, I wanted to share the eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, blushes, and highlighters that I find suitable for the Spring.

Pur My Little Pony: The Movie Collection Eyeshadow Palette: The palette includes 16 shades with matte and shimmer finishes that range from neutral to bright shades. My favorite shades to use are Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, and Laughter, which are perfect for the Spring. Some of the shades are a little difficult to blend and there is a little fallout, but other than that I would recommend this palette especially if you are a My Little Pony lover!

Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Eye Shadow Palette: The palette includes 9 shades with matte and shimmer finishes. The palette is more on the neutral side with mostly brown shades, but there is a little pop of color. The shades blend easily and there is little to no fallout. One of my favorite looks to do with this palette is to use Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Cup, and Bananas, and then add a pop of color with Jelly. The only complaint I have with this palette is that Jelly needs multiple layers to be as vibrant as in the pan.

Marzia Natura Eye Palette: This is the perfect palette for Spring! The palette includes 5 shades with matte and shimmer finishes. The shades have great pigment, and they apply and blend easily. I find that I combine any of these shades to create a gorgeous look that is perfect for the Spring.

$25 at Winky Lux

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Milk Shake: Milk Shake is a pretty light pink shade that would complete any Spring look especially when used with the Pur My Little Pony Palette. The lipstick applies evenly and it is long-lasting, but it can be very drying if you do not use a lip scrub and balm before applying.

$20 at Sephora

NYX Butter Gloss in Crème Brulee: For those that like lip glosses, I would definitely recommend this gloss. Crème Brulee is a pale pink shade that is perfect for the Spring. The gloss applies evenly, and it does not feel sticky on the lips. The gloss does need to be reapplied throughout the day though.

$5 at NYX

Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lipstick in Nude Beach: Nude Beach is a nude peach shade that is more on the pink side than peach, which makes it great for the Spring. I believe the lipstick would look good with the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette. The lipstick applies evenly and it is moisturizing on the lips, but it does need to be reapplied during the day.

$22 at Too Faced

Winky Lux x Marzia Lipstick in Corallo: Corallo is a gorgeous nude shade that I think would work well with Marzia’s Natura Palette. The lipstick applies evenly, and it lasts for most of the day. The lipstick is currently not available at Winky Lux though.

Left to Right: Milk Shake, Crème Brulee, Nude Beach, and Corallo

Blush and Highlighter

NYX Powder Blush in Ethereal: Ethereal is a pretty pink blush with a shimmer finish that is great for the Spring. The blush has good pigment, is buildable, and lasts most of the day. The shade is no longer available, but NYX does have 3 other shades available.

$2.50 at NYX

Urban Decay Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Blush in Score: Score is a pink peach shade with a mostly matte finish that is perfect for the Spring. The blush applies and blends easily, is buildable, and lasts most of the day, but it is very powdery.

$26 at Urban Decay

Too Faced Deluxe Candlelight Glow Highlighter in Rosy Glow: Rosy Glow is a dual highlighter with a light pink and gold shade that combine to a gorgeous rosy gold shade with a frost finish. The rosy gold shade is great for the Spring. The highlighter has good pigment, is buildable, and lasts all day.

  1. I’m obsessed with NYX cosmetics right now! I stick to a pretty basic look all year round but a few brighter lips would be a good shout thanks for sharing xo

  2. Ohhhhhh that Two Faced palette, right up my street! I recently discovered the NYX lip butters too, the consistency is really nice isnt it. I was so impressed. I will have a look at the colour you suggest, thanks for sharing x

  3. I need to get my hands on the Too Faced palette 😍 Those colours are just perfect. I have got other NYX lip colours and I hate that they come off quite easily which is putting me off buying more.

  4. This is so useful (as always). I’m really clueless and usually wear the same make-up all year round. I’ll try to follow your advice and mix it up a little for Spring! (I am also really impressed that you can find the time to stay glamorous with a two year old!)

    1. It’s perfectly fine having the same makeup look, but I like to mix it up a bit & with Spring that means wearing pink lipsticks & blushes & having more colorful eye makeup!
Haha thank you. During the week I normally wear minimal or no makeup, but on the weekends I definitely glam it up 😄

  6. Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work on your blog.
