This past week has been busy and I have been to the beach, safari park, and amusement park so I am a little late, but I am finally unboxing the GoodieBox and GoodieBox Crush from June!
The theme for June’s box was Hi and Bye. GoodieBox is a Danish beauty subscription box, so the boxes can only be shipped to Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. There is a GoodieBox subscription for the Netherlands, but the monthly boxes are different. Each box costs 169 kr / $26 a month and contains 5-7 items worth over 550 kr / $86. In this box I received 8 items, and 4 were full-sized.
Isle Jacobsen Sea Buckthorn Body Shampoo: Isle Jacobsen is a Danish brand, and this body shampoo cleans and softens the skin. The body shampoo includes sea buckthorn which has anti-aging properties that smooth and firm the skin. The shampoo also has rosemary which has antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, and it has a mild scent with Mandarin, Spearmint, Rose, Violet, Blackcurrant, Musk and Cedarwood. Also, Isle Jacobsen is cruelty-free. I always need more body shampoo, so I am glad I received this one. The scent is definitely different, but it smells nice.
95 kr / $15 for 200 ml
Isle Jacobsen Sea Buckthorn Body Lotion: This body lotion also contains sea buckthorn as well as macadamia oil that moisturizes the skin. The lotion has a mild fresh scent with Mandarin, Green Plants, Rose, Violet, Musk and Cedarwood. Combined with the body shampoo, the lotion and shampoo are the perfect duo for the summer. I have previously received the Ilse Jacobsen Sun Seaweed Face Cream SPF 15 in my July 2017 GoodieBox, which I regularly use so I am looking forward to trying more products from this brand. Even though I do not need more lotion, the body shampoo and lotion seem like they would go great together.
195 kr / $30 for 200 ml
Ziaja Manuka Tree Deeply Cleansing Peeling Paste (Full Size): Ziaja is a Polish brand, and this paste reduces impurities and blackheads so you can have flawless skin for the summer. The paste is massaged onto damp skin then rinsed off, and it unblocks pores and soothes irritation. The paste is recommended for oily and combination skin, and it is not tested on animals. I have oily acne-prone skin, so this paste sounds perfect for me and hopefully it is effective.
29 kr / $4
Biore Limited Edition Cheetah Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (Full Size): These pore strips unclog pores and remove dirt, oil and blackheads. The strip is applied to a damp nose and removed after 10-15 minutes. It is recommended to use these strips weekly to have fewer clogged pores and a smaller pore size. I actually bought a box of these strips a couple of weeks before I received this box. These strips are effective, but I prefer the charcoal ones. Also, Biore is not cruelty-free.
55 kr / $9 for 6 strips
Løwén Beyond Volume & Curl Mascara (Full Size): Løwén is a Danish brand, and this mascara adds lots of volume to the lashes for a dramatic look. The mascara has a curved brush, and it was awarded at the 2018 Danish Beauty Awards. The mascara is also hypoallergenic, does not contain parabens and perfumes, and is cruelty-free. I like trying new mascaras, but this one is a little too wet for me. Hopefully it well become better the more I use it.
180 kr / $28
Clean Lovegrass Eau de Parfum: Clean is an American brand, and this perfume has a fresh summer scent that smells like fresh-cut grass. Clean is also cruelty-free. I received a roll-on of this perfume in my March 2017 GoodieBox, and I like the scent so I am glad I got this one with a spray top.
400 kr / $63 for 30 ml
Paese Diamond Eyeshadow in 22 (Full Size): Paese is a Polish brand, and 22 is a peach shade with a pearl finish. 22 is the perfect eyeshadow shade for the summer, and it applies smoothly and adds shines. The eyeshadow can be used wet or dry, and it lasts for hours. Also, Paese is cruelty-free. I love getting new eyeshadow and this shade is gorgeous so I am excited to try it out.
89 kr / $14
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: This micellar water is an easy, quick, and gentle way to remove makeup and dirt after a long summer day. The micellar water is suitable for all skin types and it does not contain perfume. I have wanted to try this micellar water since I know a lot of bloggers recommend it, but Garnier is not cruelty-free.
70 kr / $11 for 400 ml
Overall this was a great box, and I will use all of these products. I am looking forward to using the peeling paste and the Isle Jacobsen duo the most. The box also had a value of 540 kr / $85, which is lower than I expected but there was still a lot of great products.
GoodieBox Crush is a quarterly subscription box with only makeup products. The theme for June’s box was Bronze Goddess. Like with the regular GoodieBox, GoodieBox Crush can only be shipped to Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. Each box costs 129 kr / $20 and contains 4 makeup items worth over 350 kr / $55 and all 4 items were full-sized.
Sleek Makeup Face Form in Medium (Full Size): Sleek Makeup is a British brand, and this face form contains a contour powder, highlighter, and bronzer. The powders are used to create a luxurious goddess look, and they can also be used as eyeshadow. Sleek Makeup is cruelty-free. I have received several Sleek Makeup products including the Sleek Makeup Crème To Powder Blush in Pink Peony in my January 2018 GoodieBox, the Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit in my November 2017 GoodieBox and the Sleek Makeup i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in Au Naturel in my February 2017 GoodieBox. It is nice receiving another Sleek Makeup product but I very rarely use a bronzer. I occasionally use a highlighter, so it will be nice to try this one out.
150 kr / $23
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome in Highlight (Full Size): Highlight is a champagne shade with a shimmer finish, and a highlighter is key to getting the perfect goddess look. The highlighter is easy to apply and blend, and it can be used anywhere on the body including the cheekbones, eyelids and collarbone to add a natural glow. Also, The Body Shop is cruelty-free. I love The Body Shop’s skin care, so I am looking forward to trying more of their makeup, and I like that the highlighter is more natural looking.
95 kr / $15
Doucce Bold Control Graphic Marker (Full Size): Doucce is an American brand, and this graphic marker is a waterproof liquid eyeliner used to create a Cleopatra cat eye look. The eyeliner is perfect for beginners and adept users, and it applies easily and does not smear, flake or fade. Doucce is cruelty-free. Eyeliner is something I never use, and I have also received the Doucce Fierce and Fine Graphic Liner in Black in my December 2017 GoodieBox that I have not touched since I first got it.
130 kr / $20
Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Bronze (Full Size): Bronze is a brown shade with a metallic finish, and this creme eyeshadow is used to create a goddess look with lots of shimmer and glow. The eyeshadow is easy to apply with a brush or finger, and it lasts for up to 12 hours. I received the Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara in my September 2017 GoodieBox, so I do not mind trying another Max Factor product. However, Max Factor is not cruelty-free, but the shade is pretty.
89 kr / $14
Overall, I am really disappointed with this box. The point of GoodieBox Crush is to be able create a makeup look using the products, but where is the lip product? You can not have a full makeup look without a lip product! Instead of having The Body Shop highlighter, I feel like a lip product could have replaced it since there is a highlighter in the Sleek Makeup Face Form. I am also not a fan of contouring, so the theme Bronze Goddess does not fit me at all and I also do not use eyeliner so I will not use one of these products. My favorite product is the eyeshadow, and the box had a value of 464 kr / $ 72. I will give GoodieBox Crush one more chance before I cancel it.
