Today is officially the first day of summer, and like with my Shades for the Spring post, I wanted to share the eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, blushes, and highlighters that I think are perfect for the summer.
For me the summer is all about bold bright shades to compliment the sunny days.
I Heart Makeup Pink Fizz Chocolate Palette: The palette includes 16 shades with mostly shimmer and a few matte finishes. Some of the shades do not have the best pigment and there is a little fallout, but the bright shimmery shades are perfect for the summer.

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow Palette: The palette has 8 glitter shades, and nothing says summer like bold glittery eyeshadow. My favorite shades from the palette are Specter, Lightyear, and Vega. The only downside is there is a lot of fallout from the glitter, and the palette is on the expensive side.

Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette: The palette includes 10 shades with matte, frost, and glitter finishes. The palette has bold shades along with some more neutral shades, which makes this palette great for the summer. My favorite shades to use are Princess, Expensive, and Rich Bitch. However, a few of the shades are problematic like Star Power stains the skin and Rich Bitch is flaky.

Look Lips Lipgloss in 201: The gloss is a light pink shade with a sheer finish that is great for the summer. The gloss is not sticky on the lips, and it can be worn alone or on top of other lipsticks.

W7 Butter Kiss Lipstick in Candy Floss: Candy Floss is a bright pink shade with a satin finish and it is perfect for the summer. The lipstick is moisturizing, but it does not have good staying power.
£4.95 / $6.50 at W7
Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes Lipstick in Craving Coral: Craving Coral is a bright orange-red shade with a semi-matte finish. The lipstick is not drying, and it lasts most of the day.
$7.49 at Maybelline
NYX Ombre Lip Duo in Peaches and Cream: The duo includes a bright orange-red lip liner and an orange lipstick. The lipstick shade was a bit too bright for me, but it might be great for others who like bold lipsticks in the summer. The lip liner and lipstick have a semi-matte finish and they blend easily together to create a ombre effect.
Blush and Highlighter
Sleek Makeup Creme to Powder Blush in Pink Peony: Pink Peony is a bright pink shade with a satin finish that is great for the summer. The blush has great pigment, and it is buildable.
£5.99 / $8 at Sleek Makeup
Make Up Academy Blusher in Bubble Gum: Bubble Gum is a coral pink shade with a matte finish that is perfect for the summer. The blush has good pigment, and it is buildable, but it is a little powdery.
£1 / $1 at Make Up Academy
Too Faced Deluxe Candlelight Glow Highlighter in Rosy Glow: This highlighter was also in my Shades for the Spring post, and it is also great for the summer to add a glow. Rosy Glow is a dual highlighter with a light pink and gold shade that combine to a gorgeous rosy gold shade with a frost finish. The highlighter has good pigment, is buildable, and lasts all day.
$30 at Too Faced
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome in Highlight: Highlight is a peach champagne shade with a shimmer finish. The highlighter is creamy and applies easily, but it is more on the sheer shade, so it is great if you want a more natural highlight during the summer.
$16 at The Body Shop
