I recently watched Diaries of Creativity’s video on the projects Taylor wants to make this spring. That gave me the idea to share the creative projects I want to make, but instead of limiting myself to just the spring season, these are the projects I want to do this year.
Baking
There are several baking and dessert recipes I want to make this year.
Apple Pie Macarons ✅
It has been years since I last made macarons, and I found a macaron cookbook at the thrift store. One of the recipes is for apple macarons, which are spiced macarons with an apple filling. Making macarons is tedious, but I think it would be nice to try making them again.
Chocolate Mousse ✅
I regularly look through the Spis Bedre magazine on Libby, and they shared several French-themed recipes. One of the recipes was for mousse au chocolat, and it looks delicious. I would love to make the chocolate mousse for dessert one day.
Strawberry Meringue ✅
I have never made meringue before, and when I was looking through The Nancy Drew Cookbook the other day, I saw a recipe for meringue with strawberries and whipped cream. I want to make meringues this year, and eating them with strawberries does sound good.

Cooking
Along with baking, I have a few cooking recipes I want to try.
Cauliflower-Corn Tacos with Pico Verde ✅
I found this recipe in the Better Homes & Gardens magazine, and I was intrigued because the taco filling is made in a slow cooker. Also, the pico verde sounds delicious, and I would like to try it with the tacos.
Five Cheese Ziti al Forno ✅
I was sent the cookbook Hack That Dish by Todd Wilbur through NetGalley. The cookbook includes 101 copycat recipes from different restaurants and brands. One of the recipes I want to try is the five cheese ziti al forno, which is a copycat of the dish from Olive Garden.
Minestrone Soup ✅
I enjoy making soups, and one soup I want to make this year is minestrone, as I have not made it before. The combination of the vegetables with the beans and pasta would be great to have one evening.

Crafts
Along with food and desserts I want to make this year, there are several crafts I want to complete.
Air-Dry Clay ✅
I bought a kilo of air-dry clay from the craft store, and I have used it to make coasters, a tealight holder, and figurines. I have around half of the clay left, and I want to make more crafts with it to ensure the clay is used up and does not dry out.
Crochet
I have been wanting to learn how to crochet for years, but it is intimidating learning a new skill. I do want to take the time, though, to watch videos and learn how to crochet.
Mini Books
When I reached my goal of reading 50 books last year, I decided to celebrate by making miniature books of the ones I read. I would like to continue the project this year and also finish making miniatures for the books I read after reaching my goal.

Writing
The last creative projects I want to do this year involve writing.
Reading Tracker (in progress)
I currently use several book tracking apps, including Goodreads and Fable. However, I would like to have a physical tracker as well. On Etsy, I found a reading journal that has a variety of trackers, challenges, and lists, and I have printed the pages I want to use. I would like to use the tracker throughout the year.
Recipe Cards (in progress)
Last year, I bought a set of index cards, and I have been using them to write my own recipes along with recipes I have tried and want to remember. I currently have 45 recipes in a box I thrifted, and I want to continue with the project this year.
Fountain Pen ✅
For my final creative project, I want to try using a fountain pen. I did find a Faber-Castell student fountain pen from the bookstore, and it is suitable for both left- and right-handed people. One of my worries is that I would smear the ink as I am left-handed, but I am looking forward to trying the pen out.

These are all amazing projects! I love the idea of mini books and using a fountain pen has been such a great add on to my daily journaling!
Thank you! I loved making the mini books, and it was nice to see all the books I have read at once. That is good to hear you like using a fountain pen.
I love the sound of the Five Cheese Ziti al Forno, and your mini books are so cute! There are so many creative projects that I want to do, I may have to write a similar post 🙂
Hopefully the ziti will be delicious and thanks!
I would be curious to know what creative projects you want to do!
A wonderful list of goals. All that food sounds great. Love those mini pens.
Thank you so much!
