What’s in My Travel Makeup Bag?

Updated on March 5th, 2024

To follow up my Top 10 Places I Want to Visit post, I wanted to share the makeup I would bring when I travel.

All of the makeup in my travel makeup bag

My only requirement was that all the products needed to fit in my makeup bag because I do not like having loose makeup in my suitcase.

Primer: It is always good to have a primer as a base for my makeup. My go to primer is the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer.

Foundation: During the summer I tend to wear powder foundation more often, so I would bring the NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Light Beige. However, I still like wearing liquid foundation, so I would also bring the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation in Light Beige since it has added SPF.

Concealer: I use concealer under my eyes and on any spots that need extra coverage especially for when I am using the NYX Powder Foundation. My go to concealer is the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Light.

Setting Powder: Since I am bringing a liquid foundation and concealer, it is good to set them with a powder. I chose the BelláPierre Cosmetics Banana Setting Powder.

Blush: I always use a blush when I wear makeup, and I have been using the Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Score. The blush is more natural, but it is also buildable and has a slight shimmer.

Highlighter: I wear a highlighter depending on my mood, so some days I want to wear a highlighter, but some days I do not. I chose the Too Faced Deluxe Candlelight Glow Highlighter in Rosy Glow since it is buildable and adds a glow to my skin.

Finishing Powder: I normally use the Tarte Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder, but I ran out of it, so I am currently using the NYX Studio Finishing Powder. Using a finishing powder is a great last step for my face makeup.

Eyeshadow Primer: I always use an eyeshadow primer when I wear eyeshadow since it makes my eye makeup last longer. My go to is the Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Eyeshadow Palette: I would only bring one palette with me when I travel, so I want one that is versatile and good for both day and night looks. I choose the Pur My Little Pony Palette because it has a wide variety of shades and it also compact enough to fit in the bag.

Mascara: To complete my eye look I use mascara to lengthen and add volume to my lashes. My go to is the Tarte Lights, Cameras, Lashes Mascara.

Lipgloss: I occasionally like wearing glosses, so I went with the Mesauda Milano Extreme Gloss in Naïve. The pink shade is great for day looks.

Lipsticks: Most of the time I like wearing lipsticks, and I have been staying away from liquid lipsticks recently. I decided I would bring both the Lipstick Queen Frog Prince and Hello Sailor lipsticks since they are great for different looks.

That is all the makeup I would bring in my travel bag!

Tarte is one of my favorite brands! They’re more expensive, but they have great quality! 😊
