I have been wanting to try a finishing powder, so I purchased the NYX Studio Finishing Powder at Ulta.
The finishing powder is white, but it is translucent on my skin. The powder is easy to apply, but it is messy due to how fine the powder is. I also found the container to be too big because there is always powder above the holes and in the lid. However, the powder does blend easily and helps set my makeup. The powder also controls shine during the day, and my face remains oil-free. I have not had an issue with the powder showing up as white in flash photos, but I know this can be a problem, so I recommend watching how much powder you use because a little does go a long way.
Overall, this is a good finishing powder, but I do want to try powders from different brands.

Great review 🙂 This is $18.95 in Australia! I really want to try it though

Love this review ! Would you recommend the powder for people with dry skin?

I have oily skin, and I think this is best for people with oily skin because it helps keep the face oil-free, but I also think it can be used with all skin types because it helps set makeup too!

I like this powder but still find myself reaching for my stay matte powder by rimmel far less messy! X

I’ll check it out! I also have a sample size of Tarte’s finishing powder, and it’s a lot less messy too!

Great review! Have you used this powder for baking your concealer? I am curious to how it holds up!
Also, I don’t recommend the elf translucent powder. For the face or baking, most of it is a fine powder, but with larger chunks of white. It does not feel nice when those powder chunks get in your eye by accident! 😬

Thanks! I haven’t used it for baking, but I don’t think this powder would be that good because a little does go a long way so if you use too much under your eyes or anywhere else on your face then you may look like a ghost!
Thanks for the insight! It’s weird elf would have large chunks in the powder. This NYX powder is all fine so you won’t have to worry about getting it into your eye!

Have you used the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder? If so, how does this compare? It is MUCH cheaper, so if it works as a dupe, I am definitely going to purchase it!!

I haven’t used that setting powder, but I would still recommend trying NYX’s because it is a good powder.
