The ‘Boyfriend Explains What Makeup Is’ Tag

I originally saw this on A Girl Recommends’ blog and then again on Emily Mae’s blog, and I thought it would be fun to do with my boyfriend. My boyfriend works at a warehouse for L’Oreal, so I expected him to know a little about makeup. This is what he thought the various makeup products were.

BB Cream: I don’t know what BB Cream is. I thought it was a brand. It’s not a type of makeup right? (He then talked about seeing a L’Oreal BB Cream commercial, but he still had no clue what it was)
Primer: I  don’t know what it is. I know what normal makeup is.

Foundation: I know what that is. You use it with the right skin tone. You use it on your face and neck to make your skin look better.

Concealer: It’s something you use to cover up acne.

Powder: That’s pretty much the same as foundation. Like it has the same purpose.

Eye Shadow: You use it around your eyes.

Eye Liner: It’s the one you do like this *uses his finger to show where you use eye liner*

Mascara: That’s for your eye lashes.

Corrector: I don’t know. It’s something you correct makeup with.

Contour: I don’t know what that is.

Blush: It’s the red thing you use on your cheeks.

Bronzer: I have never heard of that word.

Highlighter: I only know of highlights in hair not makeup.

Setting Spray: I don’t know. I guess something to set the makeup.

Lip Liner: I have no idea. I have never heard of lip liner before. (I asked him what he thinks it is based on the name, and he still had no clue)

Like I expected, my boyfriend knew about some makeup like foundation and blush, but he did not know some words because they were in English and not Danish, so I can give him a break on a not knowing a few.

  1. Omgosh I love this! I really enjoyed doing the “Husband does my makeup tag” video but he really didn’t describe what he really thought each product was used for and there were many things he put down because he didn’t know what they were!
