As we are quickly approaching Christmas, I wanted to share the Christmas advent calendars I got for 2022 and what I thought of them.
LOOKFANTASTIC Beauty Advent Calendar
My partner purchased the LOOKFANTASTIC Advent Calendar for me as I wanted a beauty advent calendar for 2022. This calendar looked great as it had a mix of makeup, skincare, hair care, and even a few items for the home. The calendar was normally 850 kr / $121, but my partner purchased it for 22% off or 663 kr / $95. The calendar has 25 days of items and a value of 4120 kr / $589, which is an amazing value for the price.
I love The Beauty Story theme of the calendar because the calendar itself looks like a giant book that you then open to see all the days. I am pleased that there is a good balance of makeup including a Luvia 2-pan eyeshadow palette, an Iconic mascara, and Revolution lip products, and skincare including an Elemis cleansing balm, a Drunk Elephant cream, and a Rodial mask. Also, I love the Rituals diffuser and Demi candle. The calendar also came with a booklet of all the items and their value so you can clearly see what each item is worth. Overall, I think the LOOKFANTASTIC calendar is a great beauty calendar, and I am thankful my partner gave it to me.

The Body Shop Box of Wishes Advent Calendar
I did not intend to purchase this calendar, but as I was scrolling on social media, I saw an ad for Magasin, which is a department store in Denmark. As it was already the second week of December, many of their Christmas advent calendars were half off including the three calendars for 2022 from The Body Shop. After looking at the items in each of the calendars, I decided to purchase the smallest Box of Wishes calendar for 237.50 kr / $34 (regular price 475 kr / $68). The calendar has 24 days of items and a value of 835 kr / $119.
I love The Body Shop, but sadly their store closed in my city. I regularly use their shower gels, hand creams, masks, and tea tree line, so I was thrilled to see those items in the calendar. The calendar included shower gels in various scents including Strawberry, Mango, and Pink Grapefruit, Shea shampoo and conditioner, a Tea Tree face wash, and a British Rose hand cream. Some other items have been the Vitamin C sheet mask, the Himalayan Charcoal mask, and a Mango body butter.
I did purchase the smallest The Body Shop Advent Calendar in 2016, and I am pleased that the calendar has improved so much over the years. In 2016, I received a bunch of non-product items like an eye pencil sharpener, tweezers, eyelash curler, facial sponge, bath lily, brow brush, and the dreaded nail file, but this year, there are only 2 non-product items – a bath lily (that is much better quality) and a hair claw. Considering I purchased the calendar for half off, I do think it has good value.

Fredsted Tea Christmas Calendar
Fredsted is a Danish tea brand, and I purchased their advent calendar from Normal. The advent calendar includes 24 days of organic tea. When it comes to tea, there are several flavors I cannot stand including ginger and licorice, but the Fredsted calendar does not have either of those flavors. Instead, the calendar has flavors including Spiced Christmas, Mango and Pineapple, Raspberry and Orange, Passionfruit and Lime, Forest Fruit, and more traditional flavors like English Breakfast and Earl Grey. There has not been a flavor I did not like, but I do enjoy the fruity flavors a bit more. I do not remember the exact price of the calendar from Normal, but it was affordable, and the calendar is definitely a nice treat in the lead-up to Christmas.
Tea:licious Advent Calendar
Tea:licious is a bubble tea shop in Copenhagen and Roskilde. They made three Christmas advent calendars for 2022 that include 4 gifts that you open each Sunday before Christmas. I purchased the smallest advent calendar that cost 150 kr / $21 for the 4 days of gifts. The first two Sundays included everything you needed to make own your own cup of bubble tea including the syrup, popping boba, and tea bags. Last year, I purchased the bubble tea kit from Tea:licious, and I enjoyed making DIY fruit bubble tea again this time around.
For the third Sunday, I was a bit disappointed because it included a Tea:licious keychain, a 20% off coupon for bubble tea or a bubble waffle that is only valid for this December, and a free ice cream upgrade when you purchase a bubble waffle. The keychain is okay, but instead of the vouchers, I would have loved it if the calendar included one of the reusable bubble tea straws that they sell in their stores. The fourth and final Sunday was definitely redeeming and it included both a voucher for a large bubble tea and a bubble waffle that can be redeemed until December 2023. I am definitely looking forward to getting bubble tea from their shop and my daughter loves their bubble waffles.

The Roskilde Calendar
The Roskilde Calendar is a Christmas calendar that includes gifts from 25 local businesses. The price of the calendar is 250 kr / $36 and has a value of 3100 kr / $442.
Some of the gifts I have already redeemed included a 75 kr / $11 gift card for the women’s clothing store Aage Müller, which I used on an adorable pair of bamboo fox socks, a snowman brooch from the vintage-inspired store Lili-Marleen, the Grinch bubble tea from Tea:licious, a honey heart pastry from the bakery Conditoret, a sheet mask from Normal, and a 2023 calendar with my daughter’s picture from Børne-Foto. A few other gifts I am excited to redeem are a breakfast buffet at Scandic hotel, a meal at Namaste, which is a delicious Indian restaurant, a free cocktail (or other drink) at Why Food & Cocktails, and an hour of bowling for up to 6 people at City Bowling.
I love this calendar because I am able to visit local businesses that are some of my favorites as well as some I have never been to before such as Aage Müller and Lili-Marleen. Many of the gifts can also be redeemed in January and February 2023, so there is no rush to go out and redeem everything before Christmas.

Tinka og Sjælens Spejl
Every year in Denmark, a new Christmas calendar tv series is released. Starting on December 1st, a new episode of the series is shown with the final episode being on Christmas day. This year, the Christmas calendar is Tinka og Sjælens Spejl (Tinka and the Mirror to the Soul), which is the third Tinka Christmas calendar series to be made. In the series, Tinka is half-nisse (similar to an elf) and half-human, and she with the help of her human best friend Lasse search for her long-lost sister in the human world.
I watch the series in the evening with my partner and our daughter, and it is enjoyable. The show is in Danish, but I have no problem following along. As we are soon approaching Christmas, I am curious how the series will end.

I love this list of Christmas advent calendars. So much fun and thanks for sharing them!
Thank you!
I had my eye on the LookFantastic advent calendar for ages, but just couldn’t justify the price – so good to hear you liked it!
It is a bit on the expensive side, but it was worth it! Also, waiting for a sale is good too!
I love the sound of all of these advent calendars! I like how unique each one is, it’s definitely different from what I’m used to seeing in stores. I especially love the LOOKFANTASTIC and Roskilde calendars. Thanks for sharing!
The LOOKFANTASTIC calendar was fantastic, and I loved the calendar for my city because I could go eat out at new restaurants and visit shops I haven’t been to before.
We need a holiday tradition where someone give you on of these cool tea Advent calendars on a holiday before Advent! T-hanksgiving? Tricks or T-reats??? I’ll work on it. In the meantime, would love a return read on my film blog; http://diggingstarwars.blogspot.com/2022/12/tremors-1990.html?m=1

Oh wow, these are some great advent calendars! My favorite on your list has to be the Lookfantastic as I’ve a weak spot for EVERY beauty advent calendar, haha. I love that it comes with a booklet so we can determine the product’s worth. This is such a lovely gesture from your partner. Thank you for sharing. Happy holidays!!

I loved the Tea:licious calendar because you could make your own bubble tea as well as get a bubble tea from their shop!
I don’t get a calendar for myself, although my son just has a chocolate one. I like the idea of the local advent calendar – it’s a great way to promote local businesses and get people in the stores after Christmas.
That’s nice your son got a chocolate one. I loved the calendar for my city because I could eat at restaurants I haven’t been to before as well as visit new shops.
Nice article. This Christmas, I’m going to binge read and binge watch Romcoms.
Thanks! That sounds fun!
Wow those are a lot of Advent calendars! I’ve actually never gotten or tried advent calendars. Where I’m from (Asia) they’re not as popular. I think they do sell advent calendars here, but not a lot of people I know give or buy them, but I would like to try them one day especially the beauty / skincare ones!! The Tea:licious one you shared is intriguing since it’s a bubble tea shop. I love bubble tea! That’s also really interesting that in Denmark a new Christmas show is released. 🙂
Yea advent calendars are very popular in North America and Europe. I hope you do get to try an advent calendar one day. All of these calendars were great, and the Tea:licious was fantastic too because I could make my own bubble tea and get a bubble tea from their shop too.
This year I didn’t get an advent calendar but all of these brands are brilliant! I like the fact that there are so many different types of advent calendar now; I’m particularly into the beauty/skincare ones!
I like that there is a lot of variety in advent calendars nowadays. I love the calendars from LOOK FANTASTIC and The Body Shop!
