Is Wild a Good Refillable Personal Care Brand? A Brand Review

AD – PR Product | I have been gifted a variety of products from Wild, and in this post, I want to share my thoughts on them and whether I would recommend the brand.

What is Wild?

Wild is a refillable, plastic-free personal care brand. They are well-known for their refillable deodorant and have expanded to refillable body wash, hand wash, and lip balms, as well as soap bars. Wild’s products are at least 94% natural in origin, vegan, aluminum-free, paraben-free, and cruelty-free. You can make one-time purchases of their products, or you can save 20% if you subscribe and schedule deliveries every 4-14 weeks. Furthermore, Wild does ship to many countries worldwide.

Wild Brand Review

Stick Deodorant

I actually reviewed Wild’s Stick Deodorant a couple of years ago when I made a one-time purchase for my Testing Products from Social Media Ads post. However, I will focus this section on the deodorant I was gifted. I was gifted the Aqua case with the Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt refill. The refill is easy to add as you twist the bottom of the case until the top slides off. From there, you add the refill, then insert the refill into the case. To use the deodorant, you simply twist it up and apply a few swipes. Wild does have good lasting power compared to other natural deodorants I have tried. I do smell fresh all day, which is great. Also, the Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt scent is nice without being overpowering, and I like that I can easily purchase more refills in a variety of scents.

A one-time purchase of a Stick Deodorant case and refill begins at $20.00/£16.49, and refills are $9/£6.50 each at Wild.

Roll On Deodorant

I was also gifted the Roll On Deodorant with an Aqua case and Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt refill. The refill is also easy to add, and you pull apart the top and bottom of the case. You then add in the refill without the lid and screw on the top. To use the deodorant, you give it a shake to get it started, then apply a few swipes of the roller ball. Like with the Stick Deodorant, the Roll On Deodorant has good lasting power and a fresh scent that lasts throughout the day.

A one-time purchase of the Roll On Deodorant with a case and refill starts from $25.50/£16.49, and refills are $10.50/£6.50 each at Wild.

Mini Deodorant

The Mini Deodorant is a travel-sized deodorant, and I received the Coconut & Vanilla scent. Coconut is one of my least favorite scents, but the vanilla does make the scent tolerable, and I am able to use the deodorant. I did find the Mini Deodorant inconvenient to use because you have to push up the deodorant and hold it in place while swiping. However, the Mini Deodorant can be good if you are backpacking or very limited on space. That said, I would prefer to take the Stick Deodorant or Roll On Deodorant while traveling.

The Mini Deodorant is $5/£3.50 each at Wild.

Body Wash

I was sent a Body Wash case with the Honey & Almond refill. Like with Wild’s other refillable products, the Body Wash is easy to add a refill. You twist off the cap of the case, put in the refill without the lid, then twist the cap back on and put the pump in place. To use the Body Wash, I get a couple of pumps of the shower gel. The shower gel lathers well, and the Honey & Almond scent is great, and the scent does linger after the shower. The Body Wash would not be good for traveling, though, because the case is quite large (10.4 oz / 300 ml of shower gel) and there is no lock to prevent the pump from being pressed down. If traveling, I would recommend using a separate travel bottle for the shower gel.

A one-time purchase of the Body Wash with a case and refill starts at $21.50/£16.39, and refills are $10/£7.99 each at Wild.

Soap

The only item I purchased myself from Wild is the soap, as I was curious to try out the soap bars. I decided on the Rhubarb & Raspberry scent, and it is fantastic. The Soap can be used as both hand soap and body soap. There is a nice lather, and the Soap would be easier to travel with than the Body Wash, as it is a much smaller size (125 grams). I would recommend using a travel soap case to prevent it from getting damaged or rubbing against other items.

The Soap bars are $10/£8 each at Wild.

Lip Balm

The last product I tried from Wild is the Lip Balm. To add the refill, you take the lid off the case, insert the refill, and twist it down. The Lip Balm is also easy to apply, and the Peach & Mango scent is nice and fruity. I use the Lip Balm daily for hydration and SPF. Since it is a balm, you would need to reapply it a couple of times a day as it wears off throughout the day. That said, the Lip Balm has a small size (4.5 grams of lip balm), and it is small enough to put in a purse or bring with you while traveling.

A one-time purchase of a Lip Balm case with a refill begins at $13.50/£9, and refills are $3.50/£2 each at Wild.

Overall Thoughts on Wild

After trying a variety of products from Wild, I do think they are a good personal care brand. I love that Wild is plastic-free and they are a sustainable alternative for deodorants, body wash, and lip balms. As far as the refillable cases, they do feel sturdy and not flimsy, and the scents of the products are wonderful without being overpowering. My personal favorite product is the Roll On Deodorant, while my least favorite is the Mini Deodorant, but I can still see the Mini Deodorant being useful in certain situations.
