10 Cozy Games Where You Play as a Cat

What are Cozy Games?

Cozy games are often low-stress games that can cover a variety of genres, from farming and simulation to adventure and story-based games. For these games on this list, the main character you play as is a cat.

10 Cozy Games Where You Play as a Cat

Cat Quest

Cat Quest is an action-adventure game where you play as a cat to rescue your catnapped sister from the evil Drakoth. There are a plethora of quests to complete, spells to learn, and equipment to find. There is combat in the game. However, you can often run away when your health is low and recover your health by napping in cities. Cat Quest is a fun game, and you can continue the adventure in Cat Quest II and Cat Quest III.

Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered

Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered is the remastered version of Catlateral Damage that adds a revamped level progression, new cat abilities, new tasks, and more. In the game, you play as a house cat who causes as much damage as possible by smashing objects onto the floor, scratching up curtains, and showing your owner who is the boss. There are 10 levels with a list of objectives to complete, and a sandbox mode as well. If causing destruction as a cat sounds fun, I highly recommend playing Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered.

Cattails: Wildwood Story

I received a copy of the game from Keymailer. Cattails: Wildwood Story is a life simulation game where you play as a cat and lead a cat colony into Wildwood. In the game, you will build a thriving town and recruit new cats, befriend the residents, hunt for prey, harvest herbs, collect magical treasures, and defend your home from intruders. In most life simulation games, you play as a human character. Therefore, Cattails: Wildwood Story is a unique take on the genre. There is a huge world to explore, and I have enjoyed playing the game.

Catto’s Post Office

In Catto’s Post Office, you play as a postcat named Catto and deliver mail to the town’s residents. The game is on the shorter side, as it takes around an hour to play through the story and complete all the Steam achievements. That said, the game was a joy to play, and I liked completing the quests and helping the residents around town.

Copycat

I was gifted a review copy of Copycat from Keymailer. Copycat is a narrative-driven game where you play as a newly adopted shelter cat whose home is taken over by a copycat. Even though Copycat was one of my least favorite games I played in 2024, I am still going to include it here because you may find yourself drawn to the story. I did like playing as a cat and uncovering the story, but I was not a fan of all the loading screens and jump cuts. Also, since Copycat is a narrative-driven game, there is no replayability. If you do want to play Copycat, I recommend waiting for a sale to buy it.

I Am Cat

I Am Cat is a virtual reality game where you play as a cat. In the game, you can complete quests, play mini games, unlock new areas to explore, and pretty much do whatever you want. If you have a VR headset and are interested in a sandbox adventure game, I Am Cat can be worth looking into.

Little Kitty, Big City

In Little Kitty, Big City, you play as a cat who is lost in the city and trying to find their way home. You explore the city, complete quests, and find and wear hats. I had such a fun time playing Little Kitty, Big City. I highly recommend the game if you want to play a cozy adventure game as a cat!

Night in the Woods

Night in the Woods follows Mae the cat, who returns to her hometown of Possum Springs after dropping out of college. She reconnects with friends, but things have changed, and there is something strange in the woods. In the game, you will explore the town, follow Mae’s story, and make choices throughout the game. Overall, Night in the Woods is a fantastic game, especially if you enjoy story-rich games.

Petit Island

In Petit Island, you play as Lily the cat, who visits Petit Island to relive her Grandpaw’s adventures and help him remember his past. Petit Island has been on my wish list since the 2024 Wholesome Direct, and I finally had the opportunity to play it. Petit Island is such an adorable game, and the story is heartwarming. You will be able to explore the island, complete quests, and get to know the locals and tourists. Petit Island is perfect if you want to play a cozy exploration game.

Snacko

The last recommendation on my list is Snacko, which I received a copy of from Player Two. In Snacko, you and your childhood friend look to start a new life on Snacko Island. In the game, you will farm, build up the town, explore the island, and befriend the residents. Snacko has a unique art style with 2D characters in 3D environments. Overall, Snacko is a good farming and life simulation game where you play as a cat.
