Guest Post | A cycling holiday is a great opportunity to explore beautiful areas of the world, escape the stresses of life, and have some fun with the perfect blend of adventure, exercise, and sightseeing. These can also be challenging trips, especially if you are a beginner. With this in mind, here are 5 of the best cycling holidays for beginners to consider.
1. Loire a Velo, France
Loire a Velo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with charming villages, vineyards, and magnificent chateaux. It is an incredibly beautiful part of the world and is ideal for a cycling holiday. The terrain is relatively flat with dedicated cycling paths making it perfect for beginners. Known as the Garden of France, you can take a slow, leisurely pace stopping off in towns like Orleans and Tours.

2. The Danube Cycle Path
The Danube Cycle Path is a popular route in central Europe as it will take you through several countries, giving you the opportunity to tick multiple places off and experience different cultures. It is also mainly flat with a signposted path, which makes it ideal for beginners. There are many highlights to discover along the way, including Nibelungengau.
3. Black Forest, Germany
The Black Forest is an ideal option for beginners as well as those with kids because it is a circular, largely flat asphalt path following a former railway line. It also offers incredible natural beauty, taking you through a mixture of forest and farmland with the ability to spend the night in charming medieval towns.
4. Amsterdam to Bruges
The Netherlands is well-known as a popular cycling destination because it is flat, with separate cycle paths everywhere. Belgium is also bike-friendly, so a cycling trip across the border can be a fun and rewarding experience for a beginner. Amsterdam and Bruges are both incredible cities to explore, and you can also stop off at places like Antwerp and Ghent.

5. Tuscany
Biking tours in Tuscany are popular as it is such a beautiful part of Italy with incredible food, picturesque scenery, and amazing cities like Florence. There are also many excellent cycling paths to follow here, with the ability to immerse yourself in the Tuscan lifestyle. While it can be hillier compared to other places on this list, beginners can keep distances short and add rest days (a great chance to indulge in Tuscan food and wine!).
There are many incredible places all over the world for a beginner’s cycling holiday, but these are five of the best. Cycling holidays blend sightseeing, adventure, and exercise, but you want to make sure that you choose somewhere that is suitable for your abilities. These are all places that will show you the beauty of the region but will be flat and gentle enough for those new to the exciting world of cycling holidays.
These sound like great vacations!

Thanks!
Oooo oh my this sounds SO lovely. The last time I went cycling was over a decade ago when I still lived in Seattle. We drove outside Seattle near the foothills and cycled along a river it was great. Though I was walking funny for week afterwards LOL.
