AD – Sponsored | With technology so prevalent, it is easy to send someone a digital card or wish them a happy birthday on social media, but sending a personal card in the mail still has value. In this post, I will share why you should not overlook the value of personal handwritten notes and how you can send your own personal notes with Handwrytten.
Handwrytten is a handwritten notes service, and they were founded in 2014 with the goal of making sending handwritten notes as easy as sending an email. On Handwrytten, you can select one of their premade designs or create your own, add a personal handwritten note, and from there they will send your card to your recipient. Here are the 4 reasons why personal notes still have value.
#1 They’re Personal
When you purchase a card, it often has a pre-filled generic message. Sometimes the message may be perfect for the occasion, but other times you may feel like it does not say what you want to say in the right way. With cards that you can customize yourself and add your own personal notes, you can write exactly what you want to fit the occasion. If it is your friend’s birthday, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, an anniversary, or even just to say thank you, you can make the perfect card for any occasion. Also, when you personalize cards, they are more memorable than a generic card. Your recipient will likely treasure the card because you took the time to customize it and write your own message for them.
#2 They’re Inexpensive
Generic cards can be inexpensive, but $1 cards may not have the best quality and your recipient may be unlikely to keep the card. That said, most generic cards cost between $4-8 and sometimes even more, which is expensive compared to a personalized card that costs $3.25 on Handwrytten. Your recipient is also more likely to keep a card that you personalized yourself, which is worth the money you spent on it.
#3 They’re Convenient
On Handwrytten, you can customize and send a card without leaving your house. They will deliver all your cards for you, and in the US, the postage is only $0.58 and it generally takes 2-5 days for your card to be delivered. They also deliver to Canada, the UK, and many other countries worldwide for the price of an international stamp, which is $1.30. Usually, there is a 1 business day turnaround from when you order a card and when they send it.
If you are sending a card to the US, you can also send a gift card with your personalized note. You can choose from over 20 different brands for gift cards including Starbucks, Target, Amazon, Grubhub, and VISA, and you can choose an amount from $5-200 depending on the retailer.
#4 They’re Creative
On Handwrytten, you can be creative. They have over 100 premade designs to choose from for any occasion or you can completely customize your own card if you would like. You can add your own images or graphics to the card to make it unique. Once you have selected or created a card, you then add your personal message and select the handwritten writing style you would like the message to be in. The card will then be printed on luxury card stock and sent to your recipient.
I like to take the time to write personalized, handwritten notes and love receiving them. I keep all of the cards people actually write to me. The thanks I receive from people that get cards from me shows me how they value the effort taken as well. I did not know that a company like Handwrytten exists. This is something I will need to look in to because I think it could be a great resource for what I like to share with people.

That’s wonderful you take the time to write personalized notes and yes Handwrytten is a great resource!
Some say that handwritten notes contribute to cluttering up your home and taking up space. I guess that they never considered that a handwritten note can serve as a memento and may someday be greatly treasured especially if it is from someone you loved who passed away. When neatly kept in boxes I don’t find that they take up much space.
I agree! My parents have kept some cards for example from my great-grandma who passed away while my mother was pregnant with me and it is sweet reading what she wrote. They do not take up much space and I have my own little stack of cards too.
I love handwritten notes. I think they are so sweet and special!
Me too!

I love those online shops that slip a handwritten note in the package! It’s so personal and thoughtful. If it’s a great way to make a meaningful connection with a customer, then definitely also with a friend, colleague, neighbor etc.
