Today, I have an exciting guest post from the lovely Annaleid over at Actually Anna. She will be sharing a helpful post on 5 beauty products you need for the Summer.
The Summer weather is finally here, so it’s about time I talk about my must-have summer beauty products. During the Summer, I like to wear as little makeup as possible because I’ll end up sweating it off anyway. Although there are some products that I absolutely swear by during the summer months. Most of them are base products because I find that a good base product saves the day. So let’s head to my top 5 summer beauty products. I’ll mention both skincare and makeup products!
Skincare Summer Beauty Products
I think skincare is equally important during the summer compared to the winter. A lot of the time, we tend to care more about our skincare products during the winter. And I have to admit I do the same because I have dry skin. I notice I slather my skin with hyaluronic acid, hydrating face cream, and also lots and lots of body lotion. But the last couple of years, I’ve noticed that my skin also needs these ingredients during the summer to keep its natural glow. So during the warm weather months, I tend to also use very hydrating skincare.
1. Sun Lotion
This is my holy grail product: SPF! Honestly, I use sunscreen all year round, so not only when the sun is out there. I feel like my skin is a lot less agitated when I use SPF all year round. Of course, it’s one of the best methods to prevent early aging, and it helps to protect your skin against skin cancer. I tend to use SPF 50, and my current favorite is the Australian Gold SPF 50 Face + Self Tan. It not only protects your skin against the sun, but it also leaves you with a nice summer tan. Another one I’ve recently discovered is the Alpha H Essential Skin Perfecting Moisturizer SPF 15. Neither of them is greasy at all and instead gives you some sun protection!
This moisturizer is perfect during the summer because it’s actually an SPF, moisturizer, and primer in one. So it also blurs the skin a bit. During the summer, I don’t like to wear a lot of base products, so I usually go for an all-in-one product. Tinted moisturizers are perfect for the summer months, in my opinion.

2. Summer Moisturizer
Even during the summer, my skin needs a lot of moisture, especially in the evening after a day out and about. I currently tested out a couple of moisturizers I’d like to give a shout-out to. I already spoke about tinted moisturizers, and a couple of years ag,o I tested the Australian Gold Botanicals tinted face SPF 50, which is still my all-time favorite tinted moisturizer! You could also create your own skin tint by mixing a couple of drops of foundation with your moisturizer. I love to do this with the Light Wonder Foundation from Charlotte Tilbury.
Now, onto the moisturizers I currently use and absolutely love! First up is the Symbright Moisture from The Inkey List. This one gives you a beautiful sheen and is very moisturizing, so perfect for the summer months! And the second one is the Zero Day Cream by Skin Academy. This moisturizer is part of the clean beauty range by Skin Academy, is very affordable, and has amazing quality!
3. Face Self-Tanner
I think this is key for summer, in my opinion, but you could also use this during the winter to keep your summer glow. Since I use a high SPF all year round, I like to get a bit of a tan with a face self-tanner. I try to keep my face out of the sun with a visor or a pair of sunglasses. Therefore, I would rather use a face tanning serum from a brand like Tan Luxe or James Read. There are lots of self-tanners out there, and it’s very important to choose one that is made for your face. Otherwise, I feel like they break me out, which is something you don’t want!

4. Concealer
We’ve already covered my preferred base during the summer, which is a tinted SPF. But something I can’t live without is concealer. I love a liquid concealer with a classic doe-foot applicator. I currently really enjoy using the Essence Sensitive concealer, which has a more runny and hydrating consistency. And the second concealer I currently have in my vanity is from Fenty Beauty. This one has a bit more coverage, which I use on days I didn’t sleep that well.
5. Setting Powder
Of course, this is definitely essential in my summer makeup bag. I always get shiny during the day and need some powder to keep the shine at bay. I have a couple of face powders that I’d like to mention. First up is the setting powder from the Essence sensitive line, which is a very finely milled powder that doesn’t take away the shine. It has a little bit of color and sets your makeup beautifully without taking away the shine. One that I couldn’t not share is the Flawless Finishing Powder from Charlotte Tilbury. This is a very hyped product, and in my opinion,n for a good reason! It’s super finely milled and sets your makeup in the most beautiful way.
I have dry skin and always struggle to find a powder that doesn’t sit on my skin; well, these two definitely don’t! And last but not least, one from Inika, which is their baked powder foundation. This one has more coverage because it’s leaning more towards a powder foundation than a setting powder. If you want a little bit more coverage on a bad skin day, you could definitely use this on top of a tinted SPF and some concealer!

I hope you loved reading about my 5 must-have summer beauty products, and let me know what yours are!

Sunscreen, yes! The sun causes you to age, and moisturizer. Great tips!
Thank you! I 100% agree! It’s always good to wear sunscreen to prevent signs of aging.
I’m not a makeup kind of girl but I tend to use SPF for sure. I don’t use it regularly if I’m being honest but I try for the summer heat. Great post! xx

It’s good you use SPF in the summer, but it is also benefical to use it year round
I used to skip SPF because I’d always forget it and got a couple of skin spots on my face that I hate so I never skip it now. Great advice, thank you.
I’m sorry you got some skin spots, but it’s good that you don’t skip SPF now!
I love a good summer product! Annaleid has shared some fab picks here, I love the Inkey list, my current moisturiser is from there.
It’s good to hear you love the Inkey List too! I’ll have to check them out!
I’ve only just started using moisturiser with spf in very recently which is so bad! I have used primer under my make up for ages and setting powder on top but I was never a fan of moisturiser!
Love reading about products – I am such a beauty junkie! I’ve just bought some tanning drops but haven’t dared use them yet!
I’ve been giving some tanning products in the past but I never used them haha 😅
Some great tips, lovely collab! Also really glad the first one was SPF, I too swear by it 😅
Thank you! I completely agree!
Fab post. I definitely tend to go lighter on the make up during Summer, sticking to face fake tan and tinted moisturzer! x
Thank you! For my everyday makeup during the summer I tend to wear lighter makeup or just spf
I’ve recently started using a very, very slight face tanning moisturizer to add a little bit of a glow as I am extremely pale. I don’t really go out in the sun unless I am completely covered and using a high factor sunscreen so I needed a little something to make me look less like I live by moonlight, haha! I love these summer beauty ideas — especially the setting powder which I’m going to try out now!
That’s great you’re using a face tanning moisturize now! I definitely recommend using a setting powder!
Sun screen is so important. I live in Florida and it’s so important to always have sun screen.
I agree! Before I moved to Denmark I lived in Texas & I ALWAYS wore sunscreen.
Lovely guest post! Sunscreen is so important for summer. I also love a good tinted lip balm too especially when I have lake/beach days! Thanks for sharing x

Thank you! I completely agree sunscreen is so important! Yes I love tinted lip balms & I have several that I’ve been using recently
I definitely agree 🙂 I don’t wear a lot of makeup but when I do, it’s concealer! Suncream & moisturizer are super important too x
I wear either light makeup or just sunscreen during the summer too!
Fab post! I don’t wear much makeup in summer but SPF is vital xx
Thank you! I agree! For my everyday makeup during the summer, I wear lighter makeup or just sunscreen.
She mentioned charlotte Tilbury foundation and I drooled. Need to ge try hands on her product but can’t sadly.
She wrote this post very nicely. I don’t need self tanners, but I could try tinted moisturizer some day. Xx

I’m sorry you can’t get Charlotte Tilbury 🙁 Yes tinted moisturizer would be nice!
Thanks for the product recommendations! I often use suntan lotion on top of a moisturizer with spf 30+ to try and prevent damage. Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree. These are all such must have products for summer!
I’m the same way with my tinted sunscreen as a go-to summer “makeup.” I’ve started to add a tiny bit of powder on top of it some days too which I also really like.
Sun lotion and moisturizers are definitely must-haves! loved the post 🙂
Great picks! We both wear SPF all year.
Great ideas! All I have are sun lotion and a moisturiser with SPF in it. I don’t wear much makeup and even less in summer!

These are some great ideas! I use sun lotion and moisturiser for my skincare. Xx
SPF is an absolute must-have for summer so if you can incorporate it into a tinted moisturiser so much the better – I love Bare Minerals products as I have oily skin but these seem to stay on my face for longer, even when I’m hot 🙂 x
SPF is so so so important all year but especially when it’s long daylight hours and hot. I totally agree with the concealer too, I’ve been wearing concealer with powder foundation a lot this summer for a light look that will last x
Loved this post! I don’t really use makeup, but a summer moisturiser and SPF are always a must for the season! I really need to try The inkey list products x
Thanks! I wear makeup year round haha but I agree SPF is a must!
Lovely collab! I’ve yet to try a face tanner, I’m so pale I’m afraid I’d look very orange! I find myself using a lighter moisturizer and a nice powder in the summer, especially on very humid, hot days. Thanks for sharing!
Alexis
Thanks! I tend to use a powder foundation during the summer as well.
