I am very late on sharing what I received in my September GoodieBox and GoodieBox Crush, but as I mentioned in my Another Life Update post, I have been busy lately, but I wanted to take this opportunity now to share what I received.
The theme for September’s box was Make It Last (specifically to make summer last). GoodieBox is a Danish beauty subscription box, so the boxes can only be shipped to Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. There is a GoodieBox subscription for the Netherlands, but the monthly boxes are different. Each box costs 169 kr / $26 a month and contains 5-7 items worth over 550 kr / $85. In this box I received 5 items, and 3 were full-sized.
Æther Citrus Ester: Æther is a French brand, and like the name suggests, the perfume has a citrus scent so you can hold onto the summer. Perfumes are always a hit or a miss in subscription boxes, and this scent is okay, but bordering on too strong. It is not one I would buy, and I will probably not wear it. I do like the spray top though, but I am unsure of the cruelty-free status of Æther.
690 kr / $106 for 50 ml
Urtekram Purple Lavender Hand Cream (Full Size): Urtekram is a Danish brand, and the hand cream includes organic essential lavender oil that moisturizes and protects the skin. The cream has a nice lavender scent so you can enjoy the summer flowers a little longer. I already have started using this hand cream, and so far I like it. Also, the hand cream is vegan, and Urtekram is cruelty-free.
45 kr / $7
You & Oil Carrot Broccoli Chia Face Serum (Full Size): You & Oil is a Lithuanian brand, and the carrot, broccoli, and chia oils provide anti-aging and anti-wrinkle benefits. The oils also provide hydration for dry skin. The serum is used by applying 3-4 drops on cleansed skin either alone or before applying a moisturizer. I feel like I have received a ton of serums before from GoodieBox, and I have not used a single one, so I will probably gift this one to my mum. However, You & Oil is cruelty-free.
260 kr / $40
Balance Me Gradual Tanning Drops: Balance Me is a British brand, and these drops are used to build a natural looking tan. The drops are streak-free, do not have an unpleasant smell, and they also moisturize the skin. The drops are used by adding 1-3 drops in a face cream or body lotion. The drops are 98.8% natural and vegan, and Balance Me is cruelty-free. I like the brand Balance Me, and I have previously received the Balance Me Radiance Face Oil in my January 2018 GoodieBox, the Balance Me BB Natural Perfection SPF 25 in my October 2017 GoodieBox, and the Balance Me Instant Lift Pore Minimiser in my October 2016 GoodieBox. I ended up gifting the face oil, but I liked the BB and pore minimiser, so these tanning drops should be good. However, I never tan, and I also do not know anyone who tans, so I do not know who to gift it to.
275 kr / $42 for 30 ml
Nails Inc. Nail Polish in Clarendon Street (Full Size): Nails Inc. is a UK brand, and Clarendon Street is a rose-pink shade that is reminiscent of the bright summer. The polish is long-lasting and chip resistant. I have previously received several Nails Inc products including the Nails Inc. INC.redible Jelly Shot Lip Quencher in my September 2017 GoodieBox, the Nails Inc. Powered by Collagen Top Coat in my August 2017 GoodieBox, and the Nails Inc. Gel Effect in Old Bond Street in my December 2016 GoodieBox. However, I have only tried the lip quencher since I very rarely wear nail polish, and if I did, it would not be pink, so this is another product I will gift. However, Nails Inc. is cruelty free.
100 kr / $15
Overall, this box was disappointing. Out of the 5 items, I will only use the hand cream. Most of the boxes are great, but this one was a big nope for me. The box did have a value of 580 kr / $89, and I already got the October GoodieBox, and it is a big improvement from this box.
GoodieBox Crush is a quarterly subscription box with only makeup products. The theme for September’s box was No Makeup Makeup. Like with the regular GoodieBox, GoodieBox Crush can only be shipped to Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. Each box costs 129 kr / $20 (99 kr / $15 for GoodieBox members) and contains 4 makeup items worth over 350 kr / $54, and all 4 items were full-sized.
Uoga Uoga Natural Lip and Cheek Color in Tender (Full Size): Uoga Uoga is a Lithuanian brand, and Tender is a natural rose shade that is made from black currant extract. The lip and cheek color contains argan, jojoba, and raspberry oils that provide moisture and soften the lips. The color also contains castor and moringa oils that protect from the wind, cold, and sun. The color is used with the fingers or a makeup sponge, and it can be built from a natural color to a more intense shade. I have previously received the Uoga Uoga Moon Path Natural Highlighter in my May 2018 GoodieBox, and it is a great natural highlighter. I have also already used the lip and cheek color, and so far I like it! Also, Uoga Uoga is cruelty free.
112 kr / $17
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Seduction (Full Size): Seduction is a nude shade with a velvety matte finish. The lip color is also lightweight and moisturizing. The lip color can be applied with the applicator or placed on the middle of the lips and spread out with a finger to give a more natural look. I love trying new lip products, and this lip color looks pretty, but Revlon is not cruelty-free.
119 kr / $18
Tromborg Mineral Face Powder in Light (Full Size): Tromborg is a Danish brand, and the face powder is made from rice and corn starch. The powder is oil-absorbing and gives the face a matte finish to create a natural flawless look that lasts all day. I have not tried any makeup from Tromborg, so I am looking forward to trying this powder. Also, Tromborg is cruelty free.
340 kr / $52.50
Pixi By Petra Brow Tamer (Full Size): Pixi is a UK brand, and the brow tamer is used for creating natural brow looks. The brow tamer is a transparent gel that is long-lasting and defines and shapes the brows. The brow tamer also contains aloe vera and panthenol that calms and moisturizes the brows. I have previously received the Pixi MultiBalm in Baby Petal in my August 2017 GoodieBox, and I have actually written a review as well. I liked the MultiBalm, so hopefully this brow tamer will be good as well. Also, I normally do not use brow products, but since this is a clear product that tames brows, I will try it out. Furthermore, Pixi does not test on animals.
100 kr / $15
Overall, this box had a value of 671 kr / $103, which is almost double the normal value. Also, this box was a huge improvement from the first 2 GoodieBox Crush boxes. The June 2018 GoodieBox Crush included a product I would not use and another product that did not fit the theme (who wears bright pink makeup for everyday makeup?) while the March 2018 GoodieBox Crush included 2 highlighters and no lip product. I am definitely pleased with this box, and I am excited to try out these products. I will continue my GoodieBox Crush subscription for now since they have made a good improvement.
Have you tried any of these brands before? What subscription boxes do you subscribe to?
