I have some exciting news to share as well as a life update! Earlier this year I applied to several master’s programs that start this Fall, and on Friday I received an email stating I was accepted into the Child Studies program at Linköping University in Sweden!
I am so excited to start the program because I will learn about the latest research done with children and then how to conduct my own research, which is what I want to do as a career! The program is mainly online, and I will have to go to the university 5 times during the 2 years. Luckily Linköping is only 4-5 hours away.
Until my program starts in the Fall, I am going to continue my Front-End Web Development course on Udacity. I am a bit behind due to the Easter holiday, but I will catch up in no time. In my Web Development course, I am learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design websites. The course is difficult at times, but I could definitely see myself designing websites as a hobby.
To celebrate my acceptance into the master’s program, last night my partner and I went to a gourmet restaurant downtown called Moehr. I ordered a snack of mushroom bouillon with foam then we ordered the four-course dinner (mine was made vegetarian). The food was delicious and unlike anything I have ever eaten. The last course was my favorite, and it was a dessert with celery. I normally do not like celery, but I was so surprised by how much I loved it! The whole experience was definitely different from anything I have ever done. Afterward, we came back to our apartment and watched It (the 2017 version). It was creepy at times, but not as scary as I expected due to the added comedy. It was a good movie though and I am looking forward to seeing Chapter 2!
Today my partner, our daughter, and I went to Bakken (the oldest amusement park in the world). The weather was absolutely PERFECT. We ate lunch at an Italian restaurant, and then my daughter went on a few rides. There were a lot of people at the park, but the lines for the rides were not long (at least the ones my daughter went on). My daughter also got to go on a ride by herself, and she loved it! Before we left I played the derby game using my lucky number and I won chocolate on my first try! It was a fun day!
Also if you do not follow me on social media, I got a new tattoo on Thursday! I had cherry blossoms added to my old kanji tattoo, and I love it!

Congratulations!!! Will the course be in English or a mixture of languages? Nothing as exciting happened to me this week, but we have finally said goodbye to the builders for a whole three weeks, so I don’t have to worry about them arriving before I am properly dressed for a while 😉
