NYX Liquid Suede Review

Updated on September 1st, 2023

Not too long ago I purchased the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the shade Tea & Cookies from Matas.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you make a purchase through my links, but there is no extra cost to you.

Tea & Cookies is a light pink shade with a matte finish and good pigment. This lipstick has a doe foot applicator, which I found a bit long and a little difficult to use. However, this lipstick applies evenly and I only need 1 coat. This lipstick does feel sticky on my lips even after waiting for it to dry, which I did not expect from a liquid lipstick. However, the stickiness does go away after a while, but this lipstick does not dry completely and therefore transfers when I eat or drink. Since this lipstick does not completely dry, it is not drying on my lips, but I would still recommend using a lip scrub and balm before applying this lipstick.

This lipstick also claims to be waterproof, and I found that it is somewhat waterproof because the color will fade but it will not completely be removed by water. Since this lipstick is somewhat waterproof, it will stain the skin if you only use water to remove it, but it will not stain the lips. As far as staying power, this lipstick lasts most of the day at around 5 hours before fading. The Liquid Suede lipsticks are affordable and there are 24 shades available ranging from pinks, reds, and nudes to vibrant blues, purples and oranges. I would not purchase another shade of this lipstick, and instead I would go for another one of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams because I prefer the formula of those lip creams.

Overall, the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick has good pigment and is somewhat waterproof, but the lipstick feels sticky on my lips and it is not transfer proof.

The NYX Liquid Suede has been discontinued, but as an alternative, you can try the NYX Smooth Whip Matte Lip Cream. The Lip Cream is $8 and comes in 24 shades.

Rate: 6/10

Have you tried the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick?

I love NYX products… i love the colours of the Lingerie lipsticks but i find they don’t actually last that well on your lips. I might give the soft matte lip a go instead after reading this post X

The swatch of that shade is beautiful but i probably wouldn’t pick it up based on the colour of the bottle. I love NYX products, can’t wait to try this!

Wow! The colour is really pretty. I just got the “Marvelous Mauve” by Sephora and I think it is quite similar. I might have to try the NYX one! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s weird that the formula for a liquid lipstick is sticky!
