Lush No Drought Review

Updated on July 23rd, 2025

Lush is known for their bath bombs and skincare products, but I wanted to try a couple of their hair products. I wash my hair every 2-4 days, and I purchased the Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo to make my hair look better and less oily on days I do not wash it.

A bottle of the No Drought Dry Shampoo from Lush

The Lush No Drought is a powder-based dry shampoo. The powder has a nice fruity scent, but it is extremely messy to use. When using the dry shampoo, the powder goes everywhere, including on my clothes and on the floor. The packaging also makes it easy to pour too much, which makes the dry shampoo even messier to use.

Another problem I have with the Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo is that it is difficult to blend in. I will often have white powder on my scalp even after rubbing the powder in with my hands and brushing it out. Also, I feel like the powder does not make my hair look better or less oily, which is the purpose of using a dry shampoo.

I have tried pouring the dry shampoo powder into my hands and then blending it in, and pouring it directly onto my head. However, my hair only looks more powdery than before I used the dry shampoo. I regularly use the Batiste Dry Shampoo, and it does a much better job of making my hair look less oily. The Batiste Dry Shampoo is also much easier to apply since it comes in a spray can instead of a loose powder.

Overall, the Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo has a nice scent, but it does not help my hair look better or less oily.

For more Lush reviews, I have also reviewed the Lush R&B Hair Moisturizer, with which I had a better experience.

Lush usually has some great products so this is definitely disappointing to see. Do you have better success with the aerosol dry shampoos? We have a few blogs about using dry shampoos and even one specifically for those with dark hair. Try to alleviate some of those powder problems!
    Keep up the great work!

It would be great if they made a product that actually helped the hair!

It didn’t work much for me either, especially not since my hair is pitch black.. ive been using the Mr sandman dusting powder from the christmas collection if i’ve been in a pinch, looks better with glitter in your hair than white dust.

I should check out their dusting powder! I need to visit a Lush soon, but there are no stores in Denmark, and the closet one is in Malmö

Shipping is expensive though, and I’m not sure if I would have to pay an import tax. Luckily Malmö is only an hour by train, but it will probably take longer because of border control 😣
