12 Cozy Summer Games to Play

What are Cozy Summer Games?

To put it simply, cozy games are games you play to relax, like Block blast 2048. For these summer-themed cozy games, they are set during summer or they have summery vibes with oceans and beaches. With that said, let us dive into my recommendations!

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure

In the game, you play as Alba as she visits her grandparents for a week during the summer. Once on the island, Alba helps save a stranded dolphin. She then establishes a wildlife rescue league with her friend Ines. However, the mayor has plans to build a luxury hotel at the location of the local wildlife reserve. Alba is a great game for the summer, where you explore the island, take photos of wildlife, complete quests, and collect signatures to stop the building of the hotel.

Clawfish

In Clawfish, you visit a train station with a fishing arcade. You play claw machines to catch fish, which are then released into the ocean. Clawfish is a fun claw machine game, and the setting is perfect for the summer. However, I do want to mention that there is no option to save your progress in the game. Therefore, you will have to play the game in one sitting or start over from the beginning.

Cloudy Valley

I received a copy of Cloudy Valley from Surau Games. In the game, you play as Pix, who goes on summer vacation and explores the Cloudy Valley archipelago. Cloudy Valley is another great game set during the summer where you explore, meet cute characters, and complete quests.

Collector’s Cove

I received a copy of Collector’s Cove from Pirate PR. Collector’s Cove is a good summery game as you sail the seas with your animal companion, farm on your boat, discover new islands, grow crops, and catch fish to become a Named Collector. There is a questline to follow, and a plethora of customization options for you and your animal companion. If you are looking for a cozy game that has a farming and fishing focus, then Collector’s Cove would be great for you.

Dordogne

Dordogne follows the story of Mimi, who is visiting her late grandmother’s home. As Mimi goes through the home, she remembers the last summer she spent in Dordogne as a child. The watercolor art style is beautiful and makes the game perfect to play during the summer. The story is emotional, and the game is worth playing.

The Hidden Art of Innkeeping

In The Hidden Art of Innkeeping, you purchase an old farmhouse in a seaside village and renovate it into a luxurious inn. As you play, you unlock upgrades to the inn, meet guests, and book rooms. You can also hire different employees, such as a chef to cook meals and a receptionist who will show you which guests are arriving. There are a variety of quests to complete, and you can explore the village, including the beach, and even collect seashells for one of the quests.

Hotel Architect

I received a copy of the game from Guillotine. In Hotel Architect, you build and run hotels across the globe. You can play career mode, where you have different scenarios for each location, or you can play sandbox mode. There are currently Gothenburg, Santorini, Paris, St. Anton, New York, and Las Vegas locations to play in, with more locations coming soon. Kabuto Park

I received a copy of Kabuto Park from Doot. In the game, you play as a young girl named Hana during her summer vacation. While on vacation, you catch bugs, train them, and battle in the Summer Beetle Battles Championship. It is a lot of fun catching bugs and battling with them, and Kabuto Park is a great game set during the summer.

Loddlenaut

Loddlenaut is one of my favorite games I played in 2024, and I received a copy from Secret Mode. In Loddlenaut, you are tasked with cleaning the ocean planet, GUP-14. It is so satisfying to clean each area, and you can also help these axolotl-like creatures called loddles. Loddlenaut is a fantastic game set in an ocean, and the game loop is so rewarding.

The Sims 4: Island Living Expansion Pack

Island Living is the 7th Expansion Pack for The Sims 4. Island Living is inspired by Polynesian culture, and the focus of the pack is on island life. Your sims can do various beach activities, explore the ocean, and even become a mermaid. Island Living would be a good Sims 4 pack for you if you want to build a waterfront house or have your sims visit the beach.

A Short Hike

In A Short Hike, you play as Claire, a young bird who explores Hawk Peak Provincial Park for the summer. Claire has the goal of reaching the summit of the mountain, and along the way, you meet other hikers and discover hidden treasures. A Short Hike is a wonderful exploration game, and the setting makes the game perfect to play during the summer.

Spilled!

The last game on my list to play during the summer is Spilled! In Spilled! you control a boat as you clean up ocean waste, unlock new areas, and upgrade your boat. Spilled! is a satisfying game like Loddlenaut, and the water slowly becomes clearer as you clean up more waste. Also, there are animals to rescue in each area, and Spilled! is a cute, summery game.
