Fall 2024 Pusheen Box and Cat Kit Review

Updated on November 22nd, 2024

Over the years, I have purchased a few Pusheen Boxes including the Winter 2016 Pusheen Box. Pusheen Box is a seasonal subscription of Pusheen-themed items. In 2021, the Cat Kit launched with Pusheem-themed items for cats. For Fall 2024, the Pusheen Box and Cat Kit had a witchy theme, and I thought it would be fun to unbox and review both on my blog.

Fall 2024 Pusheen Box

The Pusheen Box is $43.95. Shipping within the US is $10-15 while shipping to Denmark is $25. Therefore, I paid $68.95 for the box. I placed my pre-order on August 16th with the expectation of the box being shipped in October. However, my box was not shipped until October 28th and delivered on November 7th. I am disappointed that the box had a witchy Halloween theme, but in every comment I have read on the Pusheen Box Instagram and Facebook page, the subscribers received their boxes after Halloween and some individuals have still not received their box.

Fall Pusheen Box Items

The Fall Pusheen Box included 7 witchy-themed items. The items are exclusive to the Pusheen Box and are not available to purchase separately.

All 7 items in the Fall 2024 Pusheen Box included the hoodie, potion bottles, planter, tapestry, Pusheen figure, string lights, and Pusheen plush

Hoodie

The hoodie is a black zip-up hoodie that has a repeating design of Pusheen wearing a witch hat and riding a broom, a crescent moon, a spellbook, a candle, and sparkles. I think the pattern is cute, but the quality of the design is terrible. The design is faded and discolored as if it has been washed many times. Also, the hoodie smelled HORRIBLE. Apparently, the way the design of the Pusheen hoodies is printed leaves this disgusting chemical smell, which did not make for a pleasant experience when opening the box. However, washing the hoodie did make the smell subside. As far as the material of the hoodie, the hoodie is made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester. The hoodie is comfortable to wear, but I am disappointed by the quality of the design.

Potion Bottles

The box included 3 small glass bottles with a cork top. The bottles have the witch Pusheen on a broom, spellbook, candle, moon, and sparkle design. The bottles are cute, but I have no idea what to use the bottles for.

Cauldron Planter

The cauldron planter looks like a black cauldron and has the design of Pusheen wearing a witch hat and stirring a cauldron that is filled with a light blue liquid. The planter is cute and it is a good size. However, the planter is made of hard plastic and has a hole at the bottom for water to drain, therefore, you will have to place a saucer underneath to catch the water.

Tapestry

The tapestry is made of some fabric and shows Pusheen and Pip wearing witches’ hats and riding a broom together followed by Stormy on a broom. Pusheen, Pip, and Stormy are in front of the moon and above a town. At the bottom of the tapestry are two tassels. The design is cute, and the tapestry is a fine size. The tapestry is around 58×48 centimeters or 23×19 inches. However, the tapestry definitely seems more appropriate to hang in your home around Halloween.

Pusheen Figurine

The figurine is of Pusheen wearing a witch hat and using a crystal ball. The figurine is made of plastic, and it does seem like one of the better-quality items in the box.

String Lights

The string lights are around 2 meters or 6.5 feet long, battery operated, and light up in a purple color. The string lights feature 6 Pusheen and 5 bat acrylic figures, which are definitely more suitable for Halloween. Since the figures are acrylic, you have to take off a plastic film that is on the front and back before using the lights. Furthermore, the string lights are of terrible quality. Two of the bats have wings that are misaligned where the back is crooked and does not line up with the front. You cannot adjust the wings because they are glued together. Also, the battery pack comes with an on and off switch, but when you turn off the lights, they still stay on and just become dimmer!

Pusheen Plush

The plush is of Pusheen wearing a witch hat. The plush is cute and the quality seems fine.

Fall 2024 Cat Kit

Back in January, I adopted two cats and since I never bought a Cat Kit before, I thought it would be fun to try. The Cat Kit is $29.99. Again, shipping within the US is $10-15 and shipping to Denmark is $25, therefore, my total was $54.99. I ordered the Cat Kit at the same time as the Pusheen Box on August 16th with the expected shipping date in October. However, my Cat Kit was not shipped until October 29th and delivered on November 13th. Again, I am disappointed that the Cat Kits were shipped so late. The Pusheen Box Instagram page is filled with comments asking when the Cat Kits would ship, and even though the Pusheen Box account replied that the boxes would start shipping the week of the 18th, my box was not shipped until 2 weeks later.

Fall Cat Kit Items

The Fall Cat Kit included 6 witchy-themed items for cats. The items are exclusive to the Cat Kit and cannot be purchased separately.

The 6 items in the Fall 2024 Cat Kit included the witch hat and plush toys, collar, treat jar, broom kicker toy, wand teaser, and crinkle toy. My cat Luna is looking at the feather on the end of the wand teaser while my other cat Luna is looking at the spellbook crinkle toy.

Pusheen Witch’s Hat and Plush Toys

The toy is a plush witch hat that can store the four small plush crinkle toys that come in a crescent moon, spellbook, crystal ball, and candle shape. My cats love the crinkle toys since they are small enough to hit with their paws and they can carry them around in their mouth. They also like reaching into the hat and getting the toys out. This is by far their favorite item.

Collar

I know there is a lot of debate around whether cats should wear collars, but my cats do not wear collars since they are indoor cats and they are also microchipped. The design is cute though and has a crystal ball, spellbook, candle, and moon repeating pattern and a witch Pusheen charm. I cannot comment on the quality of the collar since I have no experience with purchasing cat collars, but it is adjustable and the charm is clip-on and can be removed.

Treat Jar

The treat jar is purple and depicts Pusheen wearing a witch hat and eating a donut. Also, the treat jar says “Eat Some Treats”. The treat jar is made of plastic, but it does seem to be of fine quality. I also like that the lid has a seal that ensures the jar is airtight and the treats stay fresh.

Broom Kicker Toy

The kicker toy is of a broomstick on one side and on the back is a pocket where you can place catnip. My cats did not seem interested in the toy, but I do not have catnip to try using the pocket.

Wand Teaser

The wand teaser toy has a small wooden dowel that is connected to a long string with a small crescent moon, bat, and Pusheen on a broom. The end of the broom also has feathers. My cats enjoyed playing with this toy and hitting and catching the Pusheen with their paws. They also like the feather, and this is their second favorite toy from the Cat Kit.

Pusheen Crinkle Toy

The toy is yet another crinkle toy that is of Pusheen stirring a cauldron. I feel like the crinkle toy is redundant since there are 4 crinkle toys with the hat. The toy is slightly bigger than the ones that came with the hat, but my cats do not need so many crinkle toys. Previous Cat Kits have included a treat ball, ribbon toy, and rope toy, so I definitely feel like they could have done a different type of toy instead of another crinkle toy.

Would I recommend Pusheen Box and Cat Kit?

Honestly, no. I am disappointed with the customer service side of Pusheen Box. On their website, they state the Fall Pusheen Boxes and Cat Kits would ship in October, but my boxes shipped in late October on the 28th and 29th. Therefore, I did not receive them until after Halloween and 2 to 3 weeks before the Winter Boxes are supposed to start shipping. If Pusheen Box wants to have a witchy, Halloween theme, then the boxes should be shipped in early or mid-October for individuals to enjoy them during Halloween.

Furthermore, I am disappointed by the quality of some of the items in the Pusheen Box. The design of the hoodie is faded and discolored, and the hoodie had a horrible chemical smell. The string lights are by far the worst item I received. Some of the bat figures are misaligned and when you try to turn off the lights, they stay on! The Cat Kit is fine, but to receive four crinkle toys and then another crinkle toy is a bit excessive. Also, my cats will not use the collar. I have canceled both my subscriptions to Pusheen Box and Cat Kit because I do not think the price is worth it given the poor customer service and disappointing quality of items.

What do you think of the Fall Pusheen Box and Cat Kit? Have you purchased this subscription before?

I haven’t heard of these boxes before and I’m sorry to hear about the quality! For the price, you’d hope that the customer service, shipping, and quality would be great. It’s too bad it was an overall disappointing experience. Thanks for sharing your honest review!

If you’re paying $44 for the Pusheen Box and $30 for the Cat Kit (excluding shipping), you do expect to receive some good-quality items, so it was disappointing that there were poor-quality items. Also, the customer service is terrible because they obviously went with a witchy, Halloween theme for the Fall boxes, but then they didn’t start shipping them until the very end of October..

I’m sorry to hear your experience with the kits wasn’t great! I too would be disappointed if I received Halloween-themed goodies after October and poor-quality items. The idea of Pusheen and cat boxes looks fun, especially since I also own two cats, but after reading this review, I’ll probably stay away.

I used to subscribe to FabFitFun but cancelled when I started receiving many items I had no use for. I paid the subscription fee while my friends received freebies from me.

Yes, it was so disappointing that no one received their boxes before Halloween (the earliest I read was the day after on the 1st). Also, Pusheen Box has been around since 2015, so you think they would know how to make quality products, but no. Some of the items were fine quality, but others like the hoodie and string lights were terrible.
I used to be subscribed to GoodieBox which is a beauty subscription box, and I did cancel after a while because I had a big stockpile of products to use and I also regularly gifted items I wouldn’t use to my mom and friends.

It’s a shame that you were disappointed with this cat kit, I used to put collars on my cats, but not anymore, especially as it’s the law in the UK to have your cat microchipped x

That’s good it’s a law there to have cats microchipped! It’s not a law here in Denmark, but many people do microchip their cats especially when they’re indoor/outdoor cats.

I’m not really the target audience for either of these kits, but I know a few people who might have liked receiving a box in the future as gift.
I am so glad I have read your review. What a disappointment!
That’s such a shame it was poor quality and too late to use for halloween.
Thank you so much for sharing such an honest review, it’s really refreshing to read.

Hope your cats at least enjoyed the box it all came in?

The boxes do seem like they would have great items to make a nice gift, but it was so disappointing that they came after Halloween and some of the items were of poor quality.
My cats do enjoy the toys and I’m currently using the treat jar for their treats!
