AD | Many homeowners do not have the resources to outsource home care tasks. The majority of home maintenance tasks require a lot of time and energy. That is why homeowners should contact a Beaverton roofing company like Clear Vision Construction, LLC. Here is a house maintenance checklist for every homeowner looking to maintain the pristine condition of their home:
Schedule Ongoing Inspections
Consistent home inspections are a staple activity for house maintenance. Walking through the property and scanning for visible signs of wear and tear can help prevent costly repairs down the line. Spotting and solving small problems while they are still manageable may prevent bigger, more costly repairs in the future. Regular inspections are a valuable tool for homeowners.

Home Appliance Maintenance
Appliances are an essential feature of your home. If they do not work well, the home becomes less desirable. Ensure all appliances are in working order to extend your home’s lifespan. Be especially vigilant with refrigerators and dishwashers because potential leaks can cause serious damage to your home. It is also wise to review the warranties on major appliances, as understanding what is covered can save you money on repairs or replacements. For instance, checking your air conditioner warranty can clarify whether common issues like compressor failures or refrigerant leaks are included, helping you avoid out-of-pocket surprises during hot weather. Staying informed and proactive can prevent small issues from turning into costly home repairs.
Keeping HVAC Intact
A home’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system is akin to the body’s immune or respiratory system. It creates a comfortable living environment for your home. Regularly change the air filters, clean the ducts, and look for ways to update your system’s efficiency. Hiring HVAC service Jackson can assist with regular maintenance, which will also help you keep utility bills low.
One crucial aspect of home maintenance is ensuring your HVAC system is in top shape. Regular servicing helps maintain energy efficiency, lowers utility bills, and prolongs the system’s lifespan. Scheduling an annual AC tune up before the warmer months is vital to prevent costly breakdowns and maintain comfort throughout the season. A thorough AC tune-up typically involves cleaning, inspecting for leaks, checking refrigerant levels, and ensuring all components are functioning properly. This proactive step will give you peace of mind that your cooling system is ready to perform efficiently when you need it most.
Electrical Systems Monitoring
Eliminate safety hazards related to electricity by regularly inspecting the integrity of your home’s electrical outlets, wiring, and control boxes. Look for signs of wear, frayed wires, or faulty outlets, and consult a professional electrician for any work needed.
Modern homes increasingly rely on robust network infrastructure for smart home devices, remote work, and entertainment systems. As part of your electrical system maintenance, consider evaluating your home’s data cabling services to ensure reliable internet connectivity throughout all areas of your property, which has become essential for today’s connected lifestyle.
Exterior Paint and Siding
Your home exterior is part of your home’s immunity to the elements. Routinely inspect the paint and siding for peeling, cracking, and blistering issues. You can hire a handyman near me in Sugarmill to freshen up exterior paintwork and protect your home from further damage.

Roof and Gutter Care
Regularly inspecting your roof and gutters is a must. Water damage caused by clogged or leaky gutters can damage the integrity of your home’s foundation while pooling water on your roof can lead to leaks and other issues. Ensuring that your roof and gutters are in the best shape possible will protect your home’s integrity.
Protect Your Plumbing
While water damage threats are all around, perhaps no threat is as great as the one faulty plumbing presents. Unchecked plumbing leaks are like an illness for a house. Pipes, faucets, and fixtures must regularly be inspected for leaks. To further safeguard your plumbing, consider installing a reliable system like the Sanibest Pro toilet, which is designed to handle tough waste without clogging. This upgrade can help prevent unexpected plumbing issues and maintain the health of your home’s water system. Plumbing issues can be addressed with regular inspections to minimize damages.
Window and Door Care
Another way to protect your home is to examine the windows and doors carefully. Scan them for drafts, leaks, and sealing issues. Cycling out obsolete weatherstripping helps keep doors and windows working correctly. Inspecting caulking carefully and resealing as needed can help keep your home insulated and safe from the elements.
Landscaping and Yard Maintenance
The aesthetic appeal of your home is part of its market value. Protect your investment by trimming all trees, bushes, flower beds, and other yard features so they are orderly and presentable.
Thank you for mentioning the importance of cleaning air ducts. When cleaning your ductwork, check it for leaks. Leaky ducts can lead to significant energy loss—up to 30% of a cooling system’s energy can escape through these leaks. Inspecting your ductwork for any signs of leaks, holes, or disconnected joints and sealing them with mastic sealant or metal tape can vastly improve your HVAC system’s efficiency.

You’re welcome!
This is so helpful KaraLee! We have had folks in our home remodeling the bathroom for 3 weeks, they finished up on Friday, and we were presented with new leaks. What prompted the bath remodel was that the wall behind the tile in our bathroom had began to disintegrate. Since everything would be torn a part, we decided to have our water lines changed out from galvanized to pex. The vibrations from having pipes cut out caused more issues, and it snowballs… we have a new bath we cannot use until all of the drains are also changed out. Two story homes can prove to be a challenge when doing this work, floors, ceilings, and walls are necessary to be cut into. I am just ready to have the house back, and hopefully not worry about anymore water issues.
Thanks! I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been having water issues. I hope that the drains get changed out soon and things can return back to normal
So much maintenance in a house, but definitely worth it to be out of the rental market!
I agree!
