Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Review

Updated on October 23rd, 2023

After I reviewed the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipstick, I purchased the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss in Candy Queen to try one of Soap & Glory’s glosses.

Candy Queen is supposed to be a pink gloss, however there is absolutely no pigment. As you can see in the swatch below, the gloss just looks clear with some added shimmer. On my lips, the gloss does not add any color, and it only gives my lips a glossy finish. Despite the poor pigment, the gloss does have a nice chocolate scent, and it applies easily to my lips without making them feel sticky. After I apply this lip plumping gloss, my lips feel like they are buzzing for a few minutes before the sensation fades away. The buzzing sensation is more intense than the tingling sensation from the Buxom Full-On Lip Cream, which was a bit unexpected and slightly uncomfortable. Even though this is supposed to be a lip plumping gloss, I do not notice a lip plumping effect, so I am not sure if lip plumping glosses just do not work for me. Also since this is a gloss, it only lasts a few hours before fading, and it is not transfer-proof. There are only 5 shades of this gloss available at Ulta, but Soap & Glory has 11 shades on their website. I would not purchase another shade because I doubt the other shades have good pigment if this pink shade does not even have any pigment. For the money, I would recommend purchasing a NYX Butter Gloss instead, which is half the price of this gloss at $5.Overall, the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss is a horrible gloss with no pigment and no lip plumping effect.

It’s okay. My main problem w/ this gloss was that it wasn’t pink like it was supposed to be

Ugh that’s so frustrating! I hate getting lip glosses that make me go like “well, at least my lips are shiny even though the gloss looks clear….” 🙁 Great thorough review girl!

Me too! It’s like I bought the pink gloss b/c I expected it to be pink! What’s the point of having different shades if they’re going to be clear?
