Ghostwriters have been around for many years. Typically, ghostwriters have been used to write nonfiction memoirs of celebrities, with an example being Spare by Prince Harry. Everyone knew it was unlikely Prince Harry would write his own memoir. Therefore, it made sense that he hired the ghostwriter J. R. Moehringer to share his side of the story and what it was like growing up as the spare second son, his relationship with Meghan Markle, and stepping back from his royal role. However, it has not been uncommon for celebrities to use ghostwriters to write fiction novels, which seems to be a gray area and will be the subject of this post.
