Last year, I shared my Wholesome Direct Wish List for 2023, and I thought it would be fun to share my wish list of cozy games for 2024!
What is the Wholesome Direct?
The Wholesome Direct is a showcase for cozy indie games. For 2024, the Wholesome Direct premiered on June 8th. There were over 70 games included in the hour-long direct, and the host was Jenny Windom with YouTube gamers and Twitch streamers as special guest hosts. With all that said, here is my wish list of 10 cozy games from the 2024 Wholesome Direct!
Wholesome Direct 2024 Wish List
Discounty
In Discounty, you manage your own supermarket in the harbor town of Blomkest. You design your shop, organize and restock shelves, work the checkout, make trade deals, and befriend quirky locals.
I enjoy management games, and Discounty looks like a lot of fun. I also like that you are able to explore Blomkest, and I am excited for the release!
Discounty released in August 2025 for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. I have played Discounty, and you can read my review now.
Letter Bunny
In Letter Bunny, you play as the bunny Anne as you explore the peaceful island and deliver packages. You also make new friends and help them out along the way.
Mail delivery games sound so fun, and Letter Bunny reminds me of Mail Time, but better. In Mail Time, I had a hard time finding all the characters because there was no in-game map, but there will be a map in Letter Bunny! Also, I did not like that the gameplay in Mail Time was very repetitive, where you talk to character A, deliver a letter to character B, and then return to character A. Along with delivering mail, there will be fishing, bug catching, and sled racing in Letter Bunny!
Letter Bunny is coming soon on Steam.
Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café
Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café is a relaxing decoration and rhythm game where you manage a café. In the game, you can customize your café, learn new recipes to the rhythm, befriend adorable customers, and create custom t-shirts.
I played the demo of Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café last October, and I loved it! I am usually not a big fan of rhythm games because I think I am bad at them, but I enjoyed the rhythm aspect in the demo. Also, I loved customizing the café, and I am looking forward to the full game!
Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café released in January 2026 on Steam, and you can watch my review of the game on YouTube.
Monterona
Monterona is a cute game where you build and decorate little streets based on your Italian grandma’s stories. You can also share your creations and see how others built based on the same stories.
I recently played the demo of Monterona, and I enjoyed it! It is easy and intuitive to place the houses and decorations. Also, you can easily change the size and location of the decorations, and you can turn a bush into a tree by sizing it up or placing it on a table to become a flower pot. I am intrigued by the game, and I would like to build more of the stories in the full game.
Monterona is coming soon on Steam.
On Your Tail
On Your Tail is a sleuthy story-driven game where you play as Diana. You explore the seaside village of Borgo Marina, get to know the eccentric inhabitants, partake in recreational activities, and solve some of the village’s puzzling mysteries.
I also recently played the On Your Tail demo, and it has everything I love. There is mystery-solving, exploration, and even mini-games like marbles! I thoroughly enjoyed the demo, and I am looking forward to the full release.
On Your Tail released in December 2024 for Steam and Nintendo Switch.
Petit Island
In Petit Island, you play as Lily the cat as you relive your grandpaw’s memories of the island. You explore Petit Island, take pictures around the island, and befriend interesting characters.
Petit Island looks adorable! I also like that you can customize the look of Lily, and there seems to be a lot of different things you can do in the game!
Petit Island released in November 2024 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. You can read my review of Petit Island now.
Rooster
Rooster is a story-rich puzzle game that celebrates Chinese culture. The game follows the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac who are gathering for their annual Lunar New Year’s Eve party. However, they are tired of Rooster’s terrible behavior and send him back to Ancient China to teach him some lessons.
The art style of Rooster is beautiful, and I love that each animal of the Chinese Zodiac has their own puzzle from finding hidden objects, cooking, paper crafting, and more. I am looking forward to the release of the game.
Rooster is coming soon on Steam.
Spilled!
In Spilled!, you clean up ocean waste, recycle, earn coins, and upgrade your boat. There are 8 different areas to clean up with more waste and new challenges, and there are also 16 different animals to rescue along the way.
I actually backed Spilled! on Kickstarter, and I played the demo last December. I love the graphic style, and it is relaxing and satisfying to clean up the ocean. A new Spilled! demo came out on July 5th, and I love the updated graphics!
Spilled! released in March 2025 for Steam, and you can read my review of Spilled! now.
Tukoni: Forest Keepers
Tukoni: Forest Keepers is a cozy puzzle game where you play as the forest spirit Tukoni. You meet unique characters, solve captivating puzzles, and explore a magical world filled with kindness. The game is also based on the books by the Ukrainian artist Oksana Bula.
I played the short Tukoni: Prologue, and it was a nice introduction to the game. I like the art style and the puzzles. There are no words in the game, but there are thought bubbles to show you what to do next, and there is also a hint system, which is helpful. I would love to play Tukoni: Forest Keepers when it releases.
Tukoni: Forest Keepers is releasing in 2026 on Steam.
Wax Heads
The last game on my wish list is Wax Heads. In Wax Heads, you are the new kid in charge of managing a struggling record store. You chat to customers with unique tastes and explore the store’s collection to find their perfect record.
I also played the demo of Wax Heads the other day, and I enjoyed it! I liked figuring out what record each customer wanted, and the characters were definitely eccentric! There are also mini-games and Tamagotchis in the full game, which I am looking forward to playing!
Wax Heads released in May 2026 on Steam.
Really fun post! You remind me of a family member of mine who loves playing games! I don’t really play games myself, but I do love a good story, so I enjoy watching someone play games! One time my whole family was watching my family member play a game called Ninja Gaiden like it was a movie! It was fun! The Mail Bunny reminds me of a game called TearAway. Have you ever heard of it? It’s a really cute game where the main character has to deliver a letter!
Thank you! That’s awesome you have a family member who plays games and you like watching them play! I haven’t heard of Tearaway, but now I’m intrigued!
Letter Bunny sounds like a cool game to play. I want to check it out. Thank you for your recommendations.
Letter Bunny does look so cute, and I want to play it too when it releases!
I can see why you like these games, they have such a wholesome factor about them! x

The demo for On Your Tail was a lot of fun because you got to see how the mystery mechanic works and it was nice to explore the world.
love love love this wishlist! I really need to get some more cozy games, I’ve grown a little bored of everything I’ve got. Love the sound of Petit Island!
It is good to get a new game every now and then to play! Petit Island looks so cute and fun!
