Bonus Dog Treat Air Fryer Recipe

Tail-Wagging Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats by Britt Kascjak

Often when you think of air fryer recipes, you think of recipes that you can make for yourself, but did you know that you can also make dog treats in the air fryer? Britt shares her fabulous dog treat recipe below.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour (you can use oat flour for those with allergies)
  • 1 cup of canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/3 cup of dog-safe peanut butter (no xylitol)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, eggs, and cinnamon. Mix thoroughly until you have an even consistency
  2. Slowly add the flour to the mixture while stirring. This will become increasingly difficult to mix as the dough forms. When it becomes too thick for stirring, hand-knead the dough to mix the remaining flour in. The final dough should be soft and pliable, not crumbly. If it’s overly sticky, add a small amount of flour to reach the desired texture
  3. Roll out the dough until it is approximately 1/4 inch thick. Cut the treats into small squares or use a cookie cutter for fun shapes
  4. Cut a sheet of parchment paper to the size of your air fryer basket so that it lies flat on the bottom, and pierce a few small holes to create a liner. Place as many of the treats in the basket as you can without allowing them to touch
  5. Cook at 370 degrees Fahrenheit / 185 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes, or until you notice the treats are starting to brown on the top
  6. Allow the treats to cool fully before feeding them to your furry friend. Store the treats in a ziplock bag or an airtight container in a cool area

I was on the fence about getting an air fryer for a while, but I received one as a Christmas gift. It is definitely worth it because everything that you make in the oven, you can make in the air fryer quicker. Also the air fryer can replace other appliances like a toaster & an air fryer isn’t as fast as a microwave, but you can heat frozen foods or reheat food in an air fryer

“Boiled” eggs? Mind blown!! I love doing them in the pressure cooker, but NEVER would have thought to do them in the air fryer. In fact, I just made some in a pot of boiling water on the stove yesterday. I’ve been wondering how to use our little air fryer and this post came just in time to give me some inspiration. I definitely want to give the rosemary chicken, salmon and desserts a try!

Oooo this is fab! I bought my parents a new air fryer a few months ago to replace an old (very old) and worn one. This is a fancier version and looks awesome, yet all we’ve done in it are some frozen chips! 😆 I had no idea you could do a lot of these that you’ve listed here, I’m amazed. And definitely thinking we need to up our game. I imagine a lot of people will be turning to the likes of air fryers with rising energy costs as it’ll work out a bit cheaper than the oven and hob.

Thank you for this. Will bookmark this to come back to for inspiration soon!

Wow. these look absolutely delicious! I feel so ignorant about air fryers like I’m the last person to get one but these are convincing me I have to say you had me already at bacon :). The tofu looks great too and I hadn’t considered how versatile air fryers are. Thanks so much for sharing.

You’re welcome! You’re not alone & I was on the fence about getting an air fryer for a long time, but it is worth it because there is much you can make! I also want to try baking more with the air fryer!

As I’m familiar with a few of them by now haha! I loved the salmon, berry muffins, tex mex, pizza buns, and also the one with frukaki ingredient, not familiar with it but the remaining recipe is very nice. And my favorite was the roasted vegetables wouldn’t mind having more plates of it. Will refer back when needed. Thanks. Xx

You’re welcome! My partner LOVES making croissants in the morning & the cookies come out just like if you baked them in the oven

Thank you for much for this! I bought an air fryer during the summer. I’ve used it to make fries, fish sticks, and brownies. My next attempt will be pumpkin bread. It’s nice to have a list of recipes to try this fall.

I used boxed directions with my brownies, but I will be using a from scratch recipe for my pumpkin bread this weekend. I haven’t written a food/recipe post for a long time. You’ve inspired me. I’ll get back to you 😁
