Shades for the Fall

Updated on March 5th, 2024

Now that it is Fall, I wanted to share several eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, highlighters, and blushes that I find suitable for the Fall.

Eyeshadow

Tarte Grav3YardGirl Swamp Queen Palette: The palette includes 9 eyeshadow shades, a bronzer, a blush, and a highlighter. The palette includes multiple brown and plum shades that would be suitable for the Fall including Dogman, Sassy Bun, Sippy Sippy, Haunting, Uncommon, and Mancat. The blush Does This Thing Really Work? is also a plum pink that would work well with these shades. I love this palette because the shades have great pigment and are easy to blend, but the shades do have some fallout especially with the shimmer shades.
$36 at Tarte
NYX Full Throttle Shadow Palette in Take Over Control: The palette only includes 4 shades, but they can be used to create a Fall appropriate look especially with Shade 1, Shade 2, and Shade 4. All of the shades also have good pigment and minimal fallout. NYX has 8 different Full Throttle Shadow Palettes available, and I think the palettes Color Riot and Daring Damsel would also be perfect for the Fall.

W7 In the Nude Palette: The palette includes 12 shades, and it is known to be a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. The palette includes a variety of peach and brown shades that can be used to create the perfect Fall look. The shades also have decent pigment and minimal fallout. Since I have purchased this palette, W7 has changed the name of it to Colour Me Nude, but all of the shades are the same.

Lipstick

Tarte Grav3YardGirl Tarteist Lip Paint in Texas Toast: Texas Toast is a mauve shade that compliments the darker shades in the Swamp Queen Palette. I often use this lip paint when I wear the Haunting, Uncommon, and Mancat shades from the palette. However, the lip paint does not dry completely and it can transfer, but it does not dry out my lips.
$20
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita: Lolita is a rose brown shade, and this lipstick would work well with darker brown eyeshadow shades. The lipstick also has good pigment, is long-lasting, and is mostly transfer-proof.
$20 at Sephora
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm and Copenhagen: Stockholm is a peach shade, and Copenhagen is a plum shade. I believe Stockholm would work well with the peach shades in the W7 In the Nude Palette, and Copenhagen would work well with the plum shades in the Swamp Queen Palette. Both shades have good pigment, are long-lasting, and are not drying on the lips. Even though these lip creams are not transfer-proof, they do leave a tint on the lips when they fade.

Highlighter and Blush

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop: Champagne Pop is a gold shade with a shimmer finish. The highlighter has great pigment, and it gives my face a natural glow that lasts all day.
$38 at Sephora
Manna Kadar Fantasy: Fantasy is a rose gold shade with a shimmer finish. This shade can be used as both a highlighter and blush. As both a blush and a highlighter, I find the shade buildable, and it can give my face a natural or a more intense glow. This shade also has good pigment and practically no fallout.
$19 at Manna Kadar
ModelCo Blush in Peach Bellini: Peach Bellini is a peach shade with a shimmer finish. This blush has great pigment, applies and blends easily, and lasts all day.
$22 at ModelCo

I have the W7 In the Nude palette and I absolutely love it!! Also, what are the NYX Lip creams like? I’ve only heard good things about them but haven’t tried them myself. Love your blog! <3

Thank you! 😊 The NYX lip creams are like a liquid lipstick in that they apply liquid & dry matte. They do take around 15 min to completely dry, but after that they last day! They do fade if you eat or drink, but they leave a tint on the lips. The best part is that they aren’t drying on the lips like most liquid lipsticks! I definitely recommend trying them b/c there are so many different shades & they’re affordable too! 😄
