I recently bought the full Animal Crossing: New Horizons makeup collection from ColourPop, and I wanted to share a makeup look using as many products as possible. I will have a review up next week of all the items in the collection if you are interested in purchasing anything from the collection!
The Makeup Look
To begin with, I started with my eye look. First I applied the Urban Decay Primer Potion then I moved onto my eyeshadow. There are 4 palettes in the collection with 4 shades each so I decided to use the Labelle of the Ball palette on one eye (the purple side) and the 5 Star Island palette (the pink side) on the other eye. Both are cute palettes, but I did have some issues with fallout and pigment. Since there is also the single Ballon Pop Super Shock Shadow, which is a peachy shade, I decided to use it as a topper for the purple side. I tried using the Bellionaire Glitter Gel as a topper for the pink side, but the glitter is so chunky and it did not look good, and I ended up wiping off the pink eyeshadow and redoing it. I am not sure how to use the glitter gel and make it look good, so I did not use it in the final look. To finish my eye look, I used The Body Shop Mascara. I have used the mascara several times now, and it is nice for a more natural look, but it is not my favorite mascara.
Next I moved onto my face makeup. Since I was not planning on wearing the makeup look for that long, I skipped primer and went straight into using the Tarte Face Tape Foundation and the Tarte Creaseless Concealer under my eyes. Both are nice products, but as I mentioned before in other makeup looks, the Tarte concealer is best for under the eyes and not so much the face while the foundation is a little too light. Next I used the Danessa Myricks setting powder since I did use a liquid foundation. From there, I decided which blush from the ColourPop collection to use. There are 2 blushes in the collection, and I used the Flower Power blush as I thought the pink blush would go better with the purple and pink eyeshadow than the coral blush. The blush is a pretty pink shade, but it is not different from all the other pink blushes out there. I then used the NYX Powder Foundation since the Tarte foundation was a bit too light. Since there is not a highlighter in the collection, I skipped using a higlihgter and moved onto my lips.
For the lips, there are 6 lip tints in the collection that range from browns to reds. Each of the lip tints is based on one of the fruit trees in Animal Crossing (apple, cherry, coconut, pear, peach, and orange). The lip tints do smell like the fruit which is a fun touch. Since I had a pink and purple eye look and pink blush, I figured the Orange Cutie shade would look the best since it is a reddish shade. The lip tint is more on the sheer side, but I think it looks nice. That is it for my makeup look!
