I am so ready for Halloween this year, and for today’s post, I wanted to do a dark Alice in Wonderland inspired makeup look that was suggested by friend Rei.
When Rei suggested dark Alice, I immediately thought of Alice from the video game Alice: Madness Returns. I played this game years ago, and I loved all of Alice’s dresses, but the game is dark. I based my makeup look on Alice’s main makeup look, which is a mix of red and black eyeshadow.
For my eye look, I used the Juvia’s Place The Berries palette. I bought the palette for my birthday, and it has a mix of 6 mauve and deep pink shades with matte and shimmer finishes. I used 5 of the shades (I did not use the 3rd shade as it looked more purple), and I think it turned out well. Also, the 5 shades had good pigment, and there was only a little bit of fallout in the pan. I completed my eye look with the Tarte mascara. For the rest of my face makeup, I stuck to my basics and used the Laura Mercier primer and foundation (which I topped with NYX powder foundation as the liquid foundation is too light for my skin tone), the Uoma concealer, and Tarte blush. To complete my makeup look, I used the Laritzy Lip Stix as I thought the color would compliment my eye look. I have not used the Lip Stix before, but I did not really care for it. It is a combination of a lip liner and lipstick, but it is too big to line my lips and you need to buy a separate large sharpener to sharpen it. However, the color is pretty. If you want, you can also check out my Dragon Queen Makeup Look I created for last Halloween, which was inspired by Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones.

Thank you so much! It’s a great game! Alice: Madness Returns is the sequel to American McGee’s Alice & I haven’t played it, but my friend has & she says Madness Returns is a lot better

You’re very welcome! 💗 I definitely believe it! Just the art style and the concept make me think I’d probably really enjoy it! I think I actually bought a double pack with both Alice games on PS3, but ended up unplugging it for my PS4 before I got around to playing them. I’ll have to plug in the ‘ol PS3 again one of these days and give the games a try! 😄🎮

Haha you definitely should play them if you already have them for the PS3!

Halloween is such a weird one this year with not really being able to go out. I love the eye look you opted for. That Laura Mercier foundation is one of my favourites as well x

The make up looks really lovely! I don’t often wear lipstick, I think it’s because I don’t suit it. Thank you for sharing your make up look.

I love the eye look! I like maroon-burgundy on the eyes a lot especially because I have really dark brown (almost black) eyes 😊
