March 2020 Favorites + Roundup

March 2020 Favorites + Roundup header

With everything going on, I thought it would be good to continue my montly favorites series and focus on the brighter side of things.

Life is Strange 2: Life is Strange is one of my favorite game series, and I was excited when they announced LiS2. Like with the previous games (Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm), the game is episodic in that there are 5 episodes to play through. This time you play as Sean Diaz who runs away from home with his brother Daniel after a tragic incident, and throughout the episodes, you make decisions that impact the brothers and the ultimate ending of the game (there are more than 2 endings this time). I finished playing all episodes of the game, and I loved it, but I do think the previous two games were a bit better. With that said, LiS2 is definitely worth playing. Before you play LiS2, I do recommend playing The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. This game is a free short game where you play as a 9-year-old boy and his super-hero alter-ego, Captain Spirit, and it ties into LiS2.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons: ACNH was recently released, and I have seen everyone playing and recommending it, so I decided to give it a go. In ACNH you escape to a deserted island where you can decorate your house and the island, DIY and customize furniture and clothing, visit friend’s islands as well as mystery islands, fish, plant, catch bugs, find fossils, complete quests, etc. Like with the other Animal Crossing games, ACNH is based on real-time and therefore there are events based on the holidays. Tomorrow the Bunny Day event is starting where you can collect eggs to craft items, which I am excited for! ACNH is a fun casual game that I definitely recommend playing!

Kings & Queens by Ava Max: As you probably know, I LOVE Ava Max, and this past week she released the music video for Kings & Queens and of course I love it too. Her song also has a great message of female empowerment and equality for all.

NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Natural: I have not been going out lately, but when I do, I like to look nice which this powder foundation is perfect for. The foundation has light-medium coverage with a matte finish which makes it great for oily skin. This foundation is my go-to powder foundation, and I would recommend it.

I always use concealer under my eyes, which was my main reason for wanting to try this one. The formula is thicker than Shape Tape, but it blends well and does not crease. I also bought a shade lighter than my foundation so the concealer has a brightening effect as well. Even though I do like the concealer, I think I will buy Shape Tape next time because I like that formula better.

With everything going on, I have not done that much. At the beginning of this month, I had brunch with my boyfriend’s dad and his wife at Vivaldi, and it was nice. On the 16th Denmark went on lockdown and schools/kindergartens have been closed and most people have been working from home.A picture of the beach at the forestBoth my daughter and boyfriend have been home for the past 2 weeks, but he went back to work this week. We went to the forest a couple of times while we were all home, and it was nice to get out. It also snowed a little this weekend, which was a surprise. As far as my master’s program, since it is already mainly online there were no changes that had to be made. On Sunday I submitted my final assignment for my Children’s Health and Development in a Global World course, and now all that is left is my second-year master’s thesis! I am excited to get started, and my thesis will be on how children and dyslexia are portrayed in the Danish news.
