It has been 6 months since my last monthly favorites post, and I wanted to bring it back for this year. Like with my past favorites posts, I like to share my entertainment and beauty favorites and a roundup of this past month.
Entertainment
Glow Up: Glow Up is the first series of the new year that I watched and finished on Netflix. In Glow Up, 10 MUAs from the UK compete to win a contract to work with leading makeup artists. I enjoyed watching this series, and I loved seeing the makeup looks everyone created during the challenges.

The Circle: I have been seeing clips of The Circle on Twitter, and I watched it after finishing Glow Up. In The Circle, people live alone in apartments and compete for $100,000 by communicating solely through the social media platform – The Circle. This series is entertaining, and it was interesting to see if the catfish would be found out and sent home. I am also happy for the person who won.

Not Your Barbie Girl by Ava Max: As I mentioned in my Best of 2019 Beauty + Books post, Ava Max is one of my new favorite singers. I have been listening to Not Your Barbie Girl, and I love it! The song is a play on Barbie Girl by Aqua, but Ava Max puts her own spin on it.

Beauty
Batty Creation Shop Chai Tea Lip Scrub: I have been needing a new lip scrub for a while now, and I decided to purchase one from a small business. The flavor I bought is chai tea, and it smells and tastes delicious. The scrub is also effective at making my lips soft and smooth, and I will be repurchasing from here again once I run out.
$7.50 at Batty Creation Shop
Rate: 10/10Lush Mask of Magnaminty: One of my favorite masks of all time is the Lush Mask of Magnaminty, and I finally repurchased it. I use the mask about once a week, and it helps exfoliate, moisturize, reduce redness, and control the oiliness of my skin. I would definitely recommend this mask if you have oily skin.
$14.95 – $39.95 at Lush

Roundup
For this roundup, I will begin on New Year’s Eve. For New Year’s Eve, I went to my boyfriend’s mother’s apartment for dinner, and we watched the queen’s speech on TV. I bought two fireworks batteries that I used before midnight so my daughter could see some fireworks before she went to sleep. Before midnight, me and my boyfriend went to our own apartment while my daughter spent the night at her grandma’s. Right before midnight, we watched the countdown on TV, and then watched all the fireworks outside of our window. On the 1st, I flew to Houston to visit my grandma and uncle who I have not seen in 3.5 years. We went to a Buddhist temple, shopping, and one evening me, my mum, and uncle went to Magical Winter Lights, and it was absolutely amazing! We also ate out A TON (every lunch and dinner because breakfast was complimentary at the hotel me and my mum were staying at), and I was able to eat at Gringo’s again, which is my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant of all time. On Sunday I flew back to Denmark, and the following week I had to catch up on all the readings for my master’s program because the final assignment for my Children, Gender, and Sexuality course was due the 19th. During this time, I finally received my grade for my first-year master’s thesis, and I got a B! To celebrate, I ate at Snekken, which is an Italian restaurant at the harbor that I have not eaten at before. I got the vegan stew, and it was delicious!
After I submitted the final assignment for the Children, Gender, and Sexuality course, I started my next course on the 20th, which is Research Methods and Epistemologies. Basically, it is planning for my next thesis, which I am excited about! Besides that, on the 25th was my boyfriend’s mother’s birthday, and we had lunch at her apartment, and that about wraps it up!
Posts
Since the beginning of the month was rather busy with traveling then catching up on my master’s program, I only published 3 posts this month, but next month I am planning on getting back to a regular schedule of twice a week.
Ooh, that lip scrub looks amazing! I’ve really been needing one! Great post💜

The Lush Mask of Magnaminty is something I’ve heard loads of good stuff about so when I’ve used up my Body Shop one I’ll have to invest! Glow Up sounds like it’d be right up my street but it doesn’t appear to be on UK Netflix so I’m gutted! Fingers crossed they’ll add it at some point!

I’ve been using the mask on & off for the past 3 years so I definitely recommend it!
That’s a shame b/c Glow Up is a UK show! The full title is Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star so maybe there’s somewhere else you can watch it?

I’ll have to look into it! Thanks for the tip! X

I’ve been wanting to watch Glow Up but I wasn’t sure about The Circle. I am such a sucker for reality TV though, I better check ’em both out. 😁 & I just listened to the Barbie Girl song! Whoa! I love it & her voice! So admirable that you got the lip scrub from a small business, too. It sounds delicious!
The Magical Winter Lights look absolutely amazing & big congrats on receiving a B on your thesis!
Thanks for sharing, Karalee! ♡ Always love reading these posts from you!
