Blue Moon Makeup Look

AD & GIFTED | I want to start doing a monthly makeup look on my blog, and for January,  I wanted to use the Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star Mini Controversy palette as well as a pair of Ardell lashes.

I was gifted 3 pairs of Ardell strip lashes including the Studio Effects Wispies and Demi Wispies and the Mega Volume 257 from FalseEyelashes.co.uk along with a false lash applicator and adhesive. FalseEyelashes.co.uk has 35 brands of false lashes as well as any lash accessory you would need such as glue, tweezers, scissors, and applicators. They are based in UK, but they offer worldwide shipping as well as a 10% MUA and student discount. I love the style of the 3 lashes I was gifted, and for this look, I opted for the Demi Wispies, and I love how they looked with my eye makeup. However, the adhesive was inconvenient to use because first you have to pour out a drop on a piece of foil then dip the lashes in it. Once I got the lashes placed on the center of my lash line, I tried to place the inner and outer corners of the lashes, but the glue had already dried. I later figured out that the adhesive is only for individual lashes and not strips, so it makes sense why it dried before I was able to apply the lashes completely, but I made it work. If you need an adhesive for individual lashes, you can definitely try Ardell’s. Now for the look!

The false lashes, applicator, and adhesive that I received from FalseEyelashes.co.uk

To begin with, I used two foundations like in my Sparkly Christmas Makeup Look because the Laura Mercier one was gifted to me, but it is too light, so I topped it with the NYX powder foundation. For my eye look, I wanted to use the blue shades from the Mini Controversy palette. I did not use any eyeshadow primer because I wanted to see how the shades performed on their own, which I will include in a review of the palette I am writing soon. I used the Essence eyeliner to add a tail to my eyeshadow for a little extra effect. For the lips, I used the Essence gloss and topped it with My Boyfriend’s Purse from the Mini Controversy palette to bring the look together. As a final touch, I added the Ardell lashes.

  1. That colour blue is gorgeous! It’s so vibrant and it’s such a lovely fresh shade of blue too. I don’t tend to use fake eyelashes as I can never put them on right and I always find the strips are too big for my tiny eyes 😂 having said that I really like the look of the ones you’ve used! Xx

  2. Girl!! This look is gorgeous!! The Mini Controversy palette def looks like it delivered on pigmentation. The lashes look great, too– congrats on receiving them & thank you for being honest about the adhesive. ♡

    1. Thank you so much! I defintiely recommend the Mini Controversy & the palettes that’ll be restocked in March are going to have the green shade in the middle instead of the repeat shade, which I’m excited about especially since it’s going to be sold individually too!
You’re welcome! Even if I’m gifted a product, I’m always going to be honest about what I think!
