How is the year already halfway over? But like always I want to share my favorites and a roundup for the past month.
The Society: I have been hearing about this series, so I decided to check it out on Netflix. The series follows the teenagers of the town West Ham who leave for an extended camping trip, but are forced to return due to a storm. Upon their arrival home, they realize all the adults and children are gone. While they try to figure out what happened to them and how to get West Ham back to normal, the teens must forge their own society to survive. The plot is interesting because it is not predictable and I definitely get Lord of the Flies vibes from the series. Of course since the series is about a whole society of teens, some characters are likable while others are not. At the end of the first season only one of the many questions is answered, so I am hoping the series will be renewed for a second season. I recommend watching The Society if you like teen drama and mysteries.
Crash Bandicoot: I recently purchased a Nintendo Switch and I bought the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which is a remaster of the first three games in the Crash series. I have never played a Crash game before, so I started with the first game, Crash Bandicoot, and it is fun! The levels can be challenging, which I like, and I also like the updated graphics. I recommend playing Crash Bandicoot if you like platform games, and as well as the Switch, the N. Sane Trilogy is available on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
So Am I by Ava Max: Ava Max released this song earlier this year, and I love her voice! Like with Sweet But Psycho, So Am I has an uplifting message about how it is okay to be different and you can love yourself and celebrate what makes you unique. I definitely recommend listening to this song.
NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Natural: This powder foundation is my go-to for warmer months as it has light to medium coverage making it perfect for the heat. The foundation has a matte finish, and it lasts all day with a setting spray. The foundation is also vegan, cruelty-free, and has 27 shades available. I recommend this powder foundation if you are looking for a lighter foundation for the warmer months.

Nerdwax: Since the weather has been heating up, I have been reaching more for the Nerdwax to prevent my glasses from sliding down my nose. The Nerdwax is easy to apply to the bridge of my glasses, and you can also apply it to the nose pads. After I apply the Nerdwax, my glasses do not slide down my nose, but I do have to reapply it in the afternoon. However, the Nerdwax has a small size that makes it easy to travel with. I definitely recommend Nerdwax if you wear glasses and have a problem with them sliding in the heat.

This month there has been several holidays including Grundlovsdag on the 5th, which is Denmark’s Constitution Day, and I spent the day at my boyfriend’s mother’s garden house. The following weekend was Pinse (Pentecost), and my boyfriend’s whole family gets together during this time. We stayed at a summer house on the island Fyn, and I made blueberry muffins, rhubarb mini cakes, and an apple cake for dessert. They were delicious! We also went to the beach which was fun! Me and my daughter went in the water, and it was really cold, but she had fun too. On the 13th was the summer party at my daughter’s kindergarten and I made snobrød (twist bread) with her for the first time. It was a bit of a disaster since part of the bread fell off in the fire, but it was still fun. The following Sunday was a loppemarked (flea market) at the apartments near where we live, and my daughter found a HUGE Pikachu for 40 kr / $6. This lady also gave my daughter old Disney books for free. This past Sunday was Sankt Hans aften (Saint John’s Eve) and is Denmark’s celebration of Midsummer. Around the city there were bonfires, but they started after my daughter’s bedtime so we just spent the day grilling at my boyfriend’s mother’s garden and had our own little bonfire instead. That is about it so now for the posts I wrote this month!
