January 2018 Favorites

The first month of the new year has finally come to an end, and like always I wanted to share my favorites for the past month

Entertainment

Jumanji (2017): I watched this movie earlier this month with my boyfriend. The movie is about four high school kids who become trapped in the video game version of Jumanji and they must beat the game to return to the real world. I loved the movie because it was funny and the acting was great. I would definitely recommend this movie if you want to watch a fun movie.

Are You Sleeping by Kathleen Barber: I reviewed Are You Sleeping last week, and it was a good read. The plot was interesting and it included podcast transcripts and social media posts with the story. The main character was likable and all the loose ends were wrapped up at the end. I would recommend this book if you like mysteries and family dramas.

Off To See The World by Lukas Graham: This song is from My Little Pony: The Movie. Lukas Graham is a great singer, and this song is fun and upbeat.

Beauty

Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette: I have been using this palette more recently, and it was the first eye shadow palette I bought. The palette includes 12 shades with a matte finish, and each row of shades can be used to create day and night looks. I also love adding a little shimmer to these shades to give them a pop. The shades have great pigment, and they apply and blend easily. The shades also last all day with eye shadow primer. If you would like, you can check out my full review of the Tarte Tartelette Matte Palette. I would recommend this palette if you want a neutral palette with all matte shades.

Sleek Makeup Crème To Powder Blush in Pink Peony: I have been using this blush since I got in my January 2018 GoodieBox. Pink Peony is a pretty bright pink shade with a satin finish. The blush has good pigment, and it applies and blends easily. The blush is also buildable and lasts all day with a setting spray. I would recommend this blush if you want a good quality crème blush at a good price.

  2. I still haven’t watched Jumanji, I really feel like I need to do that soon D: But I never have the patience to just sit down and watch a movie, although I can watch youtube for like hours.. It’s so weird how that works.

    1. I feel the same way about movies & I’m more often than not to stream a TV series than a movie b/c the episodes are shorter ha
But I would really recommend seeing Jumanji b/c it is really fun & entertaining! 😄

    1. Tarte has a lot of great products & they are one of my favorite brands! I’ve used the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation before & I love it b/c it is full coverage! Does the Double Duty Gel Foundation have good coverage?
I also want to try their new Shape Tape Foundation! 😄

    1. I agree! I know some people didn’t like how bright the blush is on the cheeks, but when you blend it out it looks natural unless of course you use a ton of blush so I haven’t had that problem of it being too intense! 😊

    1. I was really pleased w/ the movie too b/c most remakes are a lot worse than the original but w/ this movie they stuck to the theme of Jumanji while making it modern & fun! 😄
I love the Tartelette palette! ❤
