NYX Full Throttle Lipstick Review

Awhile back Ulta offered a NYX Beauty Break, and one of the items I received was the NYX Full Throttle Lipstick in the shade Trickster.

I have not worn the lipstick until now because I do not like the shade. Trickster is a bright violet shade with a matte finish, and I think I look ridiculous wearing it. I would not wear this lipstick out, but I admire anyone who can pull it off. Even though I do not like the shade, the lipstick does have great pigment, and it applies easily and smoothly. The lipstick takes a while to dry down, and during this time it feels sticky on my lips and it can easily transfer. However, once the lipstick is completely dry, it is long-lasting and mostly transfer proof. The lipstick fades a little when eating or drinking, but it is waterproof. The lipstick is also somewhat drying on the lips, but it is not as drying as liquid lipsticks, but it is more drying than regular lipsticks. I would recommend using a lip scrub and moisturizer or balm before applying this lipstick. There are 12 shades available of the Full Throttle Lipsticks, but I do not think I would purchase another shade because half of them are really bright whereas the other half are really dark. Overall, the NYX Full Throttle Lipstick is long-lasting and waterproof, but I do not like the selection of shades.

  1. I love the color but I also wouldn’t wear it. It’s the same you say, I admire everyone who could wear this color! I only tried out the soft matte lipcreams and I think they’re great. I’ve never tried a lipstick out by nyx.
